2. Khánh Vy’s Che Mam
Khánh Vy’s Che Mam, located in the Ngo Gia Tu apartment complex, District 10, has long been a favorite late-night spot for young people in Saigon. The special 16-bowl che tray includes various che and other sweet treats, and it typically takes 3-4 people to finish one tray. The shop opens from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM, and it’s always packed with customers. Nga, the owner, mentions that the shop has been passed down through three generations. Originally known as the 500 VND che stall popular with students, the name was later changed to Che Mam.
Initially offering only 12 bowls, the menu now features 16 types of che, mostly traditional Southern Vietnamese varieties like red bean che, Ba Ba che, banana che, white bean che, and floating rice cake che, along with a coconut jelly jar, sticky rice, and a plate of flan. Since the desserts are very sweet, we recommend going with a group of 4-5 people to share. However, you can also order individual bowls. The fun of eating Che Mam is in trying a little bit of everything with your friends.

Every step requires great care and precise timing.
