As announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2017 National High School Exam and university admissions will commence from June 21st to June 24th. During these 4 days, candidates will undergo a combination of important subject exams to facilitate high school graduation and admission to their desired universities. Keep track of the National High School Exam Schedule 2016 to know the exam times, subjects, and avoid being late for exams on the days they take place.
1. Do not arrive more than 15 minutes late. Beyond this time, you will not be allowed to take the exam
This year nationwide, there are 120 exam clusters. The first exam on July 1st will be Mathematics with essay format lasting 180 minutes and Foreign Language with multiple-choice format lasting 90 minutes.
In the morning, candidates must be present before 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM to complete all procedures before entering the exam room. When the clock strikes 7:30 and 1:30, the exam papers will be unsealed and the exam time will start. Mytour advises you to arrive at the exam venue as early as possible to ensure the most stable mental preparation.
2. Do not forget to bring your exam card and personal identification
Candidates must always remember to bring important documents including the exam card and ID card to ensure no trouble during the exam entry process. In case of loss or if home is too far away, candidates must immediately report to the Exam Council for timely handling measures.
3. Do not forget to manage your time wisely and leave the room on time
For multiple-choice exams lasting 90 minutes, candidates can leave the exam room after 60 minutes. For essay exams, the time to leave can be 2/3 of the total exam time.
Always allocate your time reasonably, avoiding situations where time runs out before completing all questions, especially in multiple-choice exams.
4. Always ensure absolute confidentiality of your individual exam
According to exam regulations, all candidates are not allowed to cheat or engage in behavior that allows others to cheat on their exam. Therefore, candidates need to be extremely mindful of this issue to avoid being reported by examiners, which could affect their final scores.
5. Strive to avoid failing grades
In any case, candidates should not allow themselves to receive a failing grade, namely a score of 0. Because to be recognized as graduating from high school, candidates need to have the average score of the 4 registered subjects, including 3 compulsory subjects and 1 elective subject. This score will then be added to the average score of grade 12, priority score, and halved.
Therefore, for each subject with a failing grade, you will suffer greatly and risk not graduating from high school.
6. Do not look at or exchange papers during the exam
Exam regulations clearly state that candidates are not allowed to look at or exchange papers during the exam. If caught by the examiners, candidates may be reported, or even suspended from taking the exam, causing significant consequences for the overall results of the candidates.
7. Absolutely” no use of phones, or bringing weapons into the exam room
During the 2015 high school graduation exam, 776 candidates were reported for violating the examination regulations, with a significant number being suspended for using phones or bringing them into the examination room. Hence, it is absolutely imperative not to bring phones or any form of documentation, weapons into the examination room under any circumstances.
8. No assisting others in the exam
According to regulations, if a test paper contains writing from two individuals, it will be considered as assistance, which is highly risky. You could face disqualification, a score of zero, and the marks for that subject will not be recognized.
9. Absolutely no alterations or additions to the exam after submission
Before submitting your exam, candidates must clearly indicate the number of sheets submitted, sign the confirmation, and absolutely refrain from adding or removing new answer sheets to cheat. In such cases, the exam results will be nullified.
Note that you are only allowed to use one type of ink when taking the exam. In some multiple-choice exam formats that require the use of pencils, you will be permitted to use this type of tool.
10. Never engage in exam fraud, impersonation, or document forgery
If caught in any of these situations, you may be banned from taking the exam for two consecutive years. And be sure, you wouldn't want your future to be set back another two years just because of a momentary lapse in judgment.
