Youthful vibes in Vũng Tàu.
Located approximately 100 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Vũng Tàu is renowned as one of the most beautiful coastal cities in the South. To reach Vũng Tàu, we opted for a passenger bus to save time and preserve our energy for exploration. In just over an hour, we set foot in this beautiful coastal city. Our first visit to Vũng Tàu instantly captivated us with its blue beaches, fresh sea breeze, attractive tourist spots, and charming cafes.Reason 1: The Enchanting Solitude of Pineapple Beach
Pineapple Beach (also known as Lang Du Beach) is situated between Front Beach and Back Beach, west of Small Mountain, near Nghinh Phong Cape. Pineapple Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vũng Tàu, attracting numerous tourists. The name Pineapple Beach comes from the wild pineapple plants - a thorny herb with a fragrance resembling sticky rice or jasmine - abundant on the hillsides extending to the sea. Additionally, the beach is also known as Lang Du Beach, a name given by a local business owner managing a beach resort here.
Afternoon vibes at Pineapple Beach.
We visited Pineapple Beach in the afternoon, a day bathed in golden sunshine. The wild pineapples and the sea under the sunlight became much more vibrant. Locals nearby claim that watching the sunset at Pineapple Beach is a moment travelers shouldn't miss. Unfortunately, we missed that twilight moment due to a sudden rain shower around 5 PM. Nevertheless, the scenery of Pineapple Beach at that time was breathtaking!

Scenery reminiscent of the open sea.
While strolling along the rocky shore, we came across a solitary tree stretching towards the sea. Wild pineapples grew on the rocks. The sky was blue, the sea was azure,... We made sure to capture these youthful moments at Pineapple Beach.Reason 2: Oldest Lighthouse in Southeast Asia
Perched atop Little Mountain (also known as Tương Phùng Mountain), in Vũng Tàu city, the Vũng Tàu lighthouse sits at an elevation of 170 meters above sea level. It holds a significant place in the history of Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.

We explored the historic lighthouse - an iconic symbol of the coastal city - in the afternoon. The winding road led us to this captivating tourist spot in Vũng Tàu. The uniqueness of the Vũng Tàu lighthouse lies not only in its ancient architecture but also in the panoramic view it offers of the coastal city from above.
Second glimpse of youth captured.

Viewing the lighthouse from below.
Designed with a towering cylindrical structure standing at 18 meters high and 3 meters in diameter, the lighthouse boasts a pristine white paint. Due to our late arrival, we missed the opportunity to climb to the top; I recommend visiting this location early in the day.Reason 3: Sitting and Gazing at Vũng Tàu's Longest Beach in the Early Morning
Amidst Vũng Tàu's coastal havens, Back Beach - Thùy Vân Beach stands out as the lengthiest stretch, spanning 8 kilometers. It is also the most sought-after beach in Vũng Tàu, boasting a plethora of accommodations, ranging from cozy lodgings to luxurious resorts. The beach is renowned for its scenic beauty, providing a panoramic view of Hòn Bà, and a notably safer environment than Front Beach, thanks to its evenly distributed, gently sloping sandy expanse.

Reason 4: Heaven's Gate at the Lower Realm
Heaven's Gate is situated in the Mũi Nghinh Phong Tourist Area, 1 Hạ Long Street, Vũng Tàu City, near the pathway leading to the outstretched arms of the Christ the King statue. Emerging just a year ago, it has quickly become an unmissable check-in spot in the city. This magical golden gate unfolds a vast seascape blended with the azure sky before your eyes.

Beautiful like a painting.
Just stand at this Lower Realm Heaven's Gate, and you'll immediately capture those super artistic shots! Another reason for you to visit Vũng Tàu, isn't it?Reason 5: Nghinh Phong Cape - 'Unique and Unmatched'
Nghinh Phong Cape is a long stretch of land on the southern part of the Vũng Tàu Peninsula. Nghinh Phong means wind reception; this location welcomes winds throughout the four seasons, extending into the sea, forming two large bays and two famous beaches, Vọng Nguyệt (or Ô Quắn) - Hương Phong (or Dứa) Beach. If you search for Nghinh Phong Cape - Vũng Tàu online, you'll find picturesque landscapes, especially the stairs nestled amidst the greenery that looks captivating.

Youthful photo number 3.
We arrived at this tourist area and searched for what we saw on the 'internet photos,' but according to the security guard, to get there, we had to pass through an abandoned café, which is now completely restricted due to safety reasons. In return, we enjoyed the view of Vọng Nguyệt Beach with its very clear and clean water. Note: The waves here are large and swirling, so it's best to come here for a breeze rather than a swim!Reason 6: Making a wish at the statue of Christ with outstretched arms
The Christ the King statue (also known as the Christ with outstretched arms) is located atop Tao Phung Mountain, standing 176 meters high. It is said that if you stand on the arm of Christ and pray, all sincere wishes come true. Perhaps for this reason, many tourists, especially loving couples, come here.
Christ the King statue.
To fulfill your dreams, you'll have to climb 777 stone steps to reach the destination. We climbed to the Christ statue in the sunny midday, and when our legs got tired, we sat on stone benches to rest for a while before continuing. The scenery on both sides of the path with fragrant frangipani flowers seemed to dispel the fatigue of our journey.

Sunny midday.
Due to not researching thoroughly, we arrived at the Christ statue after it had closed. So, the advice for you is to go up before 12 noon and after 2 pm to enter the Christ statue, stand on His arms, and enjoy the poetic view of Vung Tau's seascape!Explore more tips for conquering Vung Tau below!

Reason 7: Unique Coffee Shops
Sit at the 'Coffee House'
Located at 5 Ba Cu Street, Ward 1, Vung Tau City, The Coffee House is a coffee chain not unfamiliar to the youth. As a coffee enthusiast, I couldn't miss The Coffee House Vung Tau! My impression is that this is the most beautiful coffee shop in The Coffee House chain I've visited.
The shop is beautifully decorated.

The green of the plants.
The shop has two floors with various seating spaces, focusing on decoration, so every corner of the 'Coffee House' is lovely and photogenic! If you don't like indoor spaces, you can choose the spacious and quiet outdoor area. Transparent glass windows overlooking the greenery, blooming paper flowers... it's as beautiful as a love song! I ordered a black macchiato tea and an iced milk coffee, sat in a corner, chatted, and admired the peaceful street through the window.

Sip on a cold beer at Milla Nakedsoul.
Before heading to Vung Tau, we promised each other to catch the sunset at Milla Nakedsoul - a bar and cafe by the beach. However, due to city land planning, the bar has moved to a new address at 151 Ba Cu Street, Vung Tau City. The new Milla is tucked away in a small alley with a cool courtyard and rustic wooden tables and chairs. The indoor space is simple with a wall exuding a maritime vibe, and a unique menu wall...

While Milla no longer offers the stunning sunset view, it still provides visitors with a range of emotions that only Milla can evoke. We visited the bar in the evening. By then, Milla was lit up. We ordered a few cold beers and snacks, sat down for a chat, and let the music from the speakers take us through a spectrum of emotions.

Play a tune at Bohemiens.
Located at 155/2 Ba Cu Street, Ward 4, Vung Tau City, Bohemiens is a coffee shop that embodies its bohemian style. Tucked away in a small alley, the atmosphere is tranquil, making it perfect for those seeking a getaway from the hustle and bustle of life.

The cafe has 2 floors and is not overly spacious. We visited on a weekday morning, so Bohemiens was still relatively quiet. Inside, the cafe is adorned with many vintage items like old TVs, sewing machines, cameras, giving you a nostalgic feeling, as if you're on a train back to childhood.
A cozy corner of the cafe.
On the small and charming second-floor balcony, we enjoyed our coffee. The balcony walls are painted in a coastal style with a touch of yellow. Sipping on our milk coffee, we listened to our friend playing the guitar, and the melodies added joy to our hearts. Bohemiens offers unique drinks at very affordable prices, ranging from 15,000 to 35,000 VND depending on the type.
Super cute balcony.
