The Buddha of Prosperity atop the summit of Forbidden Mountain in An Giang and the Buddha of Enlightenment atop the summit of Ta Cu Mountain in Binh Thuan have just set new Asian records on March 2, 2013.

According to the latest information received from the Vietnam Record Organization team in Faridabad Haryana and the capital New Delhi, India, the Asian Record Organization has officially established 2 new Asian records for Vietnam on Saturday morning, March 2, 2013. They are the Buddha of Prosperity atop the largest mountain in Asia (Forbidden Mountain - An Giang) and the Buddha of Enlightenment atop the longest mountain in Asia (Ta Cu Mountain - Binh Thuan).
It is planned that at the end of April, representatives of the Asian Record Organization will directly visit Forbidden Mountain (Tinh Bien district, An Giang province) and Ta Cu Mountain (Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province) to visit the two locations where the Buddha statues are located, and at the same time will directly proceed to award certificates establishing the Asian records.
The Buddha of Prosperity atop the largest mountain was established as a Vietnamese record on January 2, 2006. The statue is placed on Thien Cam Son mountain (710m above sea level), the tallest and most majestic mountain in the mysterious Seven Mountains region.

The Buddha of Prosperity, situated in Big Buddha Temple, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province, exudes solemnity and serenity amidst the mountainous landscape. The statue vividly depicts a serene smile, compassion, contentment, and the distinctive large belly of the Buddha.
The statue stands at a height of 33.6 meters from the base to the top of the head, with a pedestal area of 27x27 meters. The total weight of the base and statue shell is nearly 1,700 tons of reinforced concrete, within a statue area spanning 2.2 hectares.

The Buddha of Enlightenment atop the longest mountain, established by the Vietnam Record Organization on January 2, 2006, resides in Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda on Ta Cu Mountain (Thuận Nam town, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province).

The reclining Buddha statue is positioned leaning against the mountain wall, peacefully resting with its head propped on its hand. The structure, made of reinforced concrete coated with white lime, has a total circumference of 832 meters, symbolizing the complete representation of the Buddha's six transcendental qualities and the seven kinds of beings. The Buddha measures 49 meters in length, representing the 49 years from the Buddha's enlightenment to his nirvana. The width at the feet is 8.8 meters, the height from the stacked feet is 4.9 meters, and the height from the shoulders down is 12.2 meters.
The materials used to create the reclining Buddha statue are reinforced concrete supervised by architect Truong Dinh Y from 1963 to 1966. Below the statue are three tiers connected by split rocks, behind the statue's back is the mountain wall and ancient forest trees.
