To change the interface, go to Settings, select View all in the Themes section, and choose the image you want to apply. You can also select your own images by clicking on My photos.
Auto-Advance feature
Normally, Gmail will automatically return to the Inbox after deleting, archiving, or dismissing a certain email notification. With this feature, you can set Gmail to jump to the next email to be processed instead of returning to the Inbox. Go to Gmail settings -> Generals -> Auto-Advance to configure this feature. However, this feature is only available for Android devices.
