Samsung, Panasonic, LG, Toshiba, and Aqua are in a fierce competition for the 'Outstanding Refrigerator Brand' title at Tech Awards 2019.
Samsung

South Korean brand Samsung stands out in the home electronics sector with diverse models, types, capacities, and attractive designs. Exclusive technologies like dual-independent cooling, surround cooling, and digital inverter compressors aim to save energy. However, the incorporation of numerous advanced technologies leads to higher pricing and less satisfactory after-sales service compared to some competitors.
Panasonic

Japanese brand Panasonic's products feature aesthetically pleasing designs with shock-resistant glass shelves, quick cooling, fast ice-making, antibacterial features, and odor elimination. However, operational noise is considered relatively high, and many models lack separate compartments for different types of food.
LG

LG refrigerators, overall, feature a modern and elegant design. In addition to energy efficiency, these products offer diverse capacities, antibacterial technology, odor elimination, and an effective cooling system. Notably, LG refrigerators can self-diagnose issues with the power source, automatically adjusting to maximize energy savings while maintaining operational efficiency. However, a common drawback is the slow initial cooling time, taking about 30 minutes after startup to cool the entire fridge. Additionally, models with new technologies come with higher price tags, and repair costs can be relatively expensive.

Most products from Japanese electronics brand Toshiba excel in energy efficiency and operate quietly. The brand utilizes advanced cooling technologies, such as dual-fan cooling and independent cold air circulation in two separate compartments, ensuring more efficient preservation of various types of food. Toshiba refrigerators also incorporate antibacterial and odor-eliminating technologies. The models come in diverse capacities, price ranges, and demonstrate high durability. Despite these strengths, many Toshiba products are criticized for their simplistic designs.

Aqua's (Japan) refrigerator line features user-friendly designs with a variety of options in terms of models and capacities. In addition to common features like energy efficiency, antibacterial properties, and multi-directional cooling, Aqua refrigerators also integrate a smart alert bell. When the refrigerator remains open for more than three minutes, the bell signals users to close it, promoting energy savings. Aqua products are considered affordably priced and more competitive than their counterparts in the top 5 brands at the Tech Awards Finals. Entering the Vietnamese market in 2004, the brand's products domestically lack many attractive smart features. Furthermore, the refrigerator designs have not truly made a significant visual impact.
