Ministry of LDTB-XH submits Prime Minister's proposal for 2021 Lunar New Year and National Day holidays for officials, civil servants, employees, and workers.
On October 28, the Ministry of LDTB-XH submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister regarding the 2021 Lunar New Year and National Day holidays for officials, civil servants, and workers. According to the proposal, there will be a 2-day holiday before Tet and a 3-day holiday after Tet. Civil servants will have a continuous 7-day Lunar New Year holiday. As Tet falls on February 13-14, 2021, which is a Saturday and Sunday, civil servants will have compensatory days off on February 15-16, 2021. Hence, civil servants will have holidays from February 10 to February 16, 2021. Regarding the National Day holiday, it is proposed to be adjacent to September 2nd. Thus, civil servants will have a 4-day National Day holiday from Thursday (September 2) to Sunday (September 5), with 2 days allocated for National Day and 2 days as regular weekly days off. Additionally, starting from 2021, enterprises can choose to have holidays before or after public holidays and Tet. For workers who are not civil servants, the Ministry of LDTB-XH suggests that employers arrange Lunar New Year holidays for workers to choose 1 day at the end of the year and 4 days at the beginning of the Lunar New Year, or 2 days at the end of the year and 3 days at the beginning of the Lunar New Year. For the National Day holiday, employers can decide to give workers 2 days off, including September 2 and 1 day immediately before or after.
