Dinh Yen Mat Village is located approximately 28 km from the city center of Dong Thap. This area has a long-standing tradition of weaving mats. In the past, due to the busy daytime schedule of the villagers in the fields or weaving mats, it was only in the evenings that mats were available for sale. Boat traders also conducted business elsewhere during the day and returned in the evening to buy mats. Therefore, the mat market usually convened at night amidst thin smoke and the cool breeze along the river.
