Dinh Yen Reed Mat Village is located about 28 km from the center of Dong Thap city. This area has a long-standing tradition of mat weaving. In the past, because during the day people were busy with farming or diligently weaving mats, it wasn't until the evening that mats were available for sale. The boat merchants also traded elsewhere during the day, returning in the evening to buy. Therefore, the mat market often convened at night amidst the thin smoke and chilly river breeze.
