According to CNN's assessment, Perhentian Kecil island beach in Terengganu, Juara beach in Tioman island, Pahang, and Tanjung Rhu beach in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia have been included in the list of the top 100 beaches in the world, ranked 13th, 21st, and 49th respectively.
The list is compiled based on various sources of opinions, including assessments from travel experts, tourists, and readers worldwide.
According to CNN, the long stretch of Tanjung Rhu beach in Langkawi exudes a simple beauty and tranquil atmosphere, surrounded by ancient limestone caves, undulating waves, and dense mangrove forests.
Every year, a large number of domestic and international tourists flock to Langkawi not only for the beauty of Tanjung Rhu beach and Cenang beach but also for Langkawi's spectacular scenic views atop Gunung Mat Cincang, one of the highest peaks of the island.
Meanwhile, although less developed and less glamorous than Thailand's islands, Juara beach in Tioman island offers a remarkably natural beauty, providing a serene experience of the beach. Tioman island is a great destination for adventure enthusiasts wanting to challenge themselves with rock climbing on Nenek Semukut limestone cliffs.
Perhentian Kecil island beach in Terengganu stands out for its clear turquoise waters always teeming with turtles and small sharks.
However, the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism has listed some of Malaysia's best islands and beaches based on local preferences, namely Sipadan, Mabul, and Kapalai islands in Sabah.
Sipadan is a world-renowned diving destination surrounded by the Sulawesi Sea. Its geographical location in the Southeast Asia-Pacific region, the epicenter of the world's richest marine ecosystems, makes it a diver's paradise.
The marine scenery is further enhanced by vast fan-shaped coral reefs, frothy sea foam, and giant soft coral colonies.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia has hundreds of islands scattered across its waters. In the Malaysian peninsula, Cherating beach in Pahang, Redang island and Lang Tengah island in Terengganu, and Pangkor island in Perak are among the most beloved beaches and islands by locals.
