Threads, the social media app owned by Meta, is attracting millions of users.
Threads, formerly known as P92 or Barcelona, has left a strong impression and reached a large audience shortly after its official launch. Millions are busy exploring every corner of Threads and sharing their experiences across various platforms.
Overall, most opinions agree that Threads offers a user experience quite similar to Twitter. You can share your thoughts as threads, like and comment on threads posted by others, and repost them with or without quotes. Although Threads currently provides an ad-free experience, it lacks some features commonly found on its main competitor Twitter and many other popular social media apps.
You can't bookmark or save posts for later viewing
According to Meta, Threads is an adjunct to Instagram for text-based conversations. However, the platform does not allow users to save the threads appearing in their data feed for later viewing.
The ability to save posts for later use is a common feature on popular social media apps like Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook. However, Threads lacks this functionality.
You can't search for anything except usernames

Clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the Threads app allows you to use the search feature. However, unlike Twitter, where the search bar displays a variety of topics, the search tab on Threads is currently limited to a list of accounts you can follow.
Entering a query into the search bar will only display a list of user accounts that match the keyword you entered. Threads app seems to lack an Explore section even though this feature is present on its parent app Instagram.
You can't directly delete your Threads profile
As a subsidiary product of Instagram, you can start using the Threads app after logging in with your existing Instagram account.
However, once created, a Threads profile cannot be independently deleted. In other words, Threads account is tied to your Instagram account. Deleting Threads will require deleting Instagram as well. However, you can temporarily disable your Threads account if needed.
You can't send direct messages
You won't be able to send messages to accounts you follow on Threads. It seems the only way to interact with others is through comments. Additionally, the only place you can discover new content on the Threads app is the Home tab.
