4 Vietnamese Street Foods Recently Included in Global Rankings
The global street food festival currently happening in Singapore has attracted numerous culinary experts and chefs.
Vietnam has secured 4 dishes in the top 35 that are rated to make you 'salivate uncontrollably' at first sight.
The first two Vietnamese entries on this list are quite familiar to most people: bánh căn and chè chuối.
Bánh căn is a type of cake made from rice flour, filled with shrimp, fried, and served with fresh herbs, chili, and shrimp fish sauce dip. Meanwhile, chè chuối is predominantly made of bananas and coconut milk mixed with glutinous rice flour.
The remaining two dishes seem 'upscale' as they both originate from shrimp ingredients: fried sticky rice served with shrimp in oil and shrimp crackers.
Most of the street foods on this list come from Asian countries, especially Southeast Asia. The United States and Mexico each contribute one dish.
