While black coffee is already widespread and familiar, it remains the most suitable type of coffee for the taste preferences of Vietnamese people.
Ingredients for brewing filter coffee:
- Pure ground coffee (purchased from reputable brands or directly from coffee farms if possible)
- Refined salt, sugar
- Boiling water, ice
Steps to Brew Filter Coffee:
- Rinse the filter, cup, and spoon with boiling water to sterilize.
- Add ground coffee to the filter until it reaches halfway. Gently shake the filter and use the coffee press (do not press too hard as it may prevent water from permeating through).
- Pour boiling water into the filter. Stop when the water reaches about 1/3 of the filter, wait for the coffee to bloom, then pour another 2/3 to get the first extract. After the first extraction, if desired, wait for it to finish and replace the cup, then pour more water to get the second extraction.
- Depending on preference, you can leave it as is or add sugar, ice to enhance the taste of the coffee. Remember to add a few grains of salt to make the coffee richer.

2. Iced Milk Coffee
Similar to black coffee, iced milk coffee is loved by many people, especially the younger generation, because it retains the characteristic aroma of coffee but is sweeter and less selective than black coffee.
Ingredients for Making Iced Brown Coffee:
- Pure ground coffee
- Refined salt
- Sugar, milk, ice
Steps to Make Iced Milk Coffee:
- Making iced brown coffee is similar to making black coffee, but the final step involves adding more sugar, milk, and ice, making the coffee sweeter and turning it brown.
Important Note:
- If you want a quick option, you can choose packaged coffee from famous brands, but most of these types contain flavorings and colorants, so they are not as pure and delicious as filter-brewed coffee.

3. Cappuccino Coffee

- Fresh milk: 30ml
- Cocoa powder or cinnamon powder (depending on preference)
Steps to Make Cappuccino Coffee:
- Use a milk frother to froth 30ml of fresh milk until smooth and foamy.
- Heat a ceramic cup in the microwave, then pour frothed milk into the cup.
- Slowly pour 30ml of espresso coffee into the cup, blending with the smooth milk foam.
- Sprinkle a bit of cocoa powder or cinnamon powder (about 1/2 teaspoon) prepared on top, use a small toothpick to create a heart or leaf shape for aesthetics.

4. Mocha Coffee
Unlike Cappuccino which has only a layer of milk foam on the surface, Mocha Coffee is a combination of the bitter taste of coffee, the rich creaminess of fresh cream, and the distinctive flavor of melted chocolate.
Ingredients for Making Mocha Coffee:
- Cocoa powder: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh milk: 70ml
- Melted chocolate: 15ml
- Pure coffee: 30ml
- Crushed ice
- Condensed milk: 1 tablespoon
Steps to Make Iced Mocha Coffee:
- Pour cocoa powder into a glass, slowly pour hot coffee into the glass to dissolve the cocoa powder. This step is crucial because if the coffee is not hot enough, the cocoa powder cannot fully dissolve, and the aroma of cocoa will not be perceived when drinking.
- Stir the coffee and cocoa mixture evenly until the cocoa is completely dissolved, then put it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to reduce the temperature of the mixture.
- After the cocoa mixture has cooled, add melted chocolate, fresh milk, condensed milk, ice, and the cocoa mixture into a shaker, shake vigorously for a few minutes. The stronger you shake, the more froth the coffee mixture will have, and the tastier the drink will be.
- Pour into a glass, add a straw. There you have a delicious blended Mocha Coffee.
