Optimizing Work with Galaxy Z Fold4
There's something we all can agree on – foldable smartphones like the Galaxy Z Fold4 have brought numerous benefits to user experiences, especially in daily work routines.

I usually work primarily on the web, and my daily tasks involve checking emails, typing documents, planning in Google Sheets, messaging on Line and Messenger, and basic photo editing. Therefore, I always need a laptop to efficiently handle these tasks. However, in cases of sudden mobility or forgetting to bring my laptop, the Galaxy Z Fold4 becomes an incredibly effective backup solution. Thanks to that, I no longer have to rely too much on my laptop.

With its flexible foldable screen design, Galaxy Z Fold4 can function like separate control panels, allowing me to create various multitasking scenarios. For instance, I can plan in Google Sheets, message on Line (or Messenger), and simultaneously check emails (thanks to the multitasking feature of three apps on one screen). It's incredibly convenient, folks!

Especially with the Flex Mode on Galaxy Z Fold4, I can use half of the screen to open apps, while the remaining portion is used for various navigation tasks such as adjusting brightness/volume, opening the notification panel, using it as a touchpad, taking screenshots, or activating the keyboard for typing content. As you can see in the GIF below, I keep the upper half of the screen open for Google Sheets and the lower part for typing content using the keyboard.

Furthermore, Galaxy Z Fold4 is equipped with a new convenient taskbar, creating a layout similar to a PC. This is a feature that I find very useful that Samsung added to Galaxy Z Fold4, helping us experience the large screen more efficiently and multitask quickly and easily. Because, simply put, when using a computer or tablet, we are already very familiar with this operation.

The taskbar helps me quickly access the apps I need and recently opened apps without having to exit the main screen or open the multitasking interface. We can enhance work efficiency by easily arranging apps on a screen with just a swipe and quickly switching between viewing modes such as pop-up screen mode or split-screen.

All the amazing things mentioned above result from the collaboration between Samsung and Meta (Facebook), Google, Microsoft, and other companies. Particularly, I highly appreciate Google's involvement with the Android 12L operating system to better support foldable phones. Indeed, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 exhibits significantly smoother performance in window transitions and multitasking compared to previous Z Fold generations.

Galaxy Z Fold4 brings an incredibly flexible entertainment experience
Of course, I don't use the Galaxy Z Fold4 only for work but also for entertainment tasks. Speaking of hardware specs, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the latest and most powerful processor from Qualcomm at the moment. Along with that is a RAM capacity of up to 12 GB, similar to the previous generation but now with an additional feature of virtual RAM, maxing out at 8 GB (meaning you'll have up to 20 GB of RAM).

With these impressive specs, the device can handle my basic entertainment needs such as watching videos, browsing the web, reading stories, listening to music, etc. While I'm not a heavy gamer, for popular titles like Arena of Valor or PUBG Mobile, the Galaxy Z Fold4 delivers a smooth gaming experience even in intense battles. For more details, stay tuned for the future performance review of the Galaxy Z Fold4!

As mentioned earlier, Flex Mode is extremely useful when I have meetings via Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. Now, this feature also helps me forget about hand fatigue when holding the phone while watching videos or reading articles. With the flexible folding hinge design, I can easily adjust the screen angle according to eye level when sitting alone or with others, making it easy to place the phone anywhere in any position (sitting or lying down).

When using it regularly with the main 7.6-inch display, the entertainment experience is flawless. The display quality is excellent, which is understandable given that Samsung is one of the world's largest and best mobile screen manufacturers at the moment. Additionally, we can enjoy larger and clearer content, making the Z Fold4 stand out completely from regular smartphones.

Many seem stressed about the crease in the Galaxy Z Fold4's screen, but personally, I don't find it a major issue. When looking straight on or using apps with a white background, the crease isn't too distracting. Moreover, I fully embrace the trade-off of having a foldable and flexible screen rather than a flat, rigid display that can't bend at a 90-degree angle like some Chinese foldable smartphones.
Embrace a new lifestyle with Galaxy Z Fold4
One of the significant upgrades Samsung made with the Galaxy Z Fold4 this year is in the camera system. Samsung has always focused heavily on the cameras in their devices, from flagships to mid-range models. However, on foldable phones, the screen technology increases the device cost, possibly one reason why cameras weren't a priority in the early generations of foldable smartphones.

However, things have changed as the rear camera system of the Galaxy Z Fold4 now boasts impressive hardware specifications, even though the design of these three cameras hasn't undergone significant changes. Specifically, the main sensor of the device has a resolution of 50 MP with an f/1.8 aperture (with OIS), a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 10 MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture.

Especially noteworthy is the telephoto lens on the Galaxy Z Fold4, offering 3x optical zoom instead of the 2x on the Z Fold3 camera. With all these upgrades, Samsung's new foldable smartphone has become a powerful tool for effortlessly capturing many daily moments.

I usually capture moments in auto mode and portrait mode on the Galaxy Z Fold4. Launching the camera on the Galaxy Z Fold4 is a breeze with a double press of the power button, delivering satisfying results in the captured images (you can check some shots below). I prioritize capturing the right moment and angle over other features. So, I just need the phone's camera to open quickly, capture good images, and the Galaxy Z Fold4 excels at that.

The durability of the Galaxy Z Fold4 provides me with more peace of mind during usage
Talking about the Galaxy Z Fold4 without mentioning its design is a significant omission. When it comes to choosing a phone, the first factor I consider is undoubtedly the design.

Since I always want to own a device with a beautiful design that can serve as both a piece of technology and a fashion accessory to accentuate my style, the Galaxy Z Fold4 has truly caught my eye with its sophisticated design, trendy colors (Phantom Black, Metallic Cream, Titan Green), and especially the unique foldable screen.

Not only does the Galaxy Z Fold4 embody uniqueness, but it also boasts incredible durability, and I'm highly impressed with what Samsung has done with the phone's hinge. After complaints about the durability of the hinge on the Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung knew they had to do better. Despite thorough testing, the gear-like folding mechanism on the Z Fold3 still couldn't avoid damages during users' daily usage.

Several issues could arise with the folding mechanism of the Z Fold3 during usage, such as getting caught when placed in pockets or bags, falling from heights, and even dust intrusion into the gears. After a while of use, the Z Fold3's folding hinge became misaligned, leading to protrusions or bumps on the screen.
All the mentioned issues may be a thing of the past with the new hinge mechanism on the Galaxy Z Fold4, which is a pivot type, similar to ball bearings in swivel joints. Specifically, the folding mechanism of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is executed based on translational motion, where a pair of sliding bars move up and down. When unfolding the device, these sliding bars have levers on them and will push two metal 'wings' attached to either side of the screen (like wings of a butterfly) to unfold.
Additionally, this hinge part will be sealed tightly to prevent dust from entering. Thanks to these improvements, I noticed that the hinge part when folding and unfolding gives a slightly sturdier and more secure feeling compared to the previous version.

The second notable feature I appreciate in the design of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is the squared-off frame, with more pronounced edges. This design choice adds visual solidity to the device, aligning with the enduring trend of a sleek, flat aesthetic that has remained fashionable for many years. Particularly, the frame is crafted from Armor Aluminum, which Samsung claims to be the most durable and superior type of aluminum, providing a sense of confidence during usage.

Regarding the inner screen, Samsung states that they have made significant improvements to enhance both durability and optimize the overall weight of the device. The protective metal layer beneath the screen layers will be replaced with glass fibers, and additional reinforcement beneath will involve replacing the damper pads with structures that offer better force feedback resistance.

On the flip side, the company has enhanced the structure of the protective layers of the display panel with more rigid materials, thereby increasing the overall durability of the screen while still reducing the weight of the device. Not to mention, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and rear glass, ensuring improved device durability.

Conclusion
In summary, I believe Samsung has excelled with the Galaxy Z Fold4, and the entire Galaxy Z series of foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Fold series stands as Samsung's achievement in breaking free from the era they didn't initiate, the era of touchscreens.

Now, you probably have a clearer sense of the flexible design and groundbreaking features of the Z Fold4, these flagship devices contribute to perfecting our dynamic lifestyle. These foldable devices are meticulously designed to support and adapt to all your needs, offering outstanding performance, durability, simple usage, and a plethora of customization possibilities. Whether you're using the phone for regular entertainment, creative content creation with demanding tasks, or multitasking in both work and leisure.
