What we perceive as ordinary and humble in Vietnam is actually what captivates many foreign tourists.
Vietnam is a beautiful, safe, and diverse country that made me realize I had to plan a journey to explore this Southeast Asian nation. Here are 5 reasons why I fell in love with Vietnam, and I highly recommend you choose Vietnam as your destination for self-discovery travel.
1. Bicycles, Motorbikes, and Vibrant Streets
I absolutely love strolling along the streets of Ho Chi Minh City at night. During those times, I can see the bright lights from the lanterns, reflecting on small puddles after a brief rain, the aroma of coffee wafting from a street-side café, people hurrying along the streets on bicycles and motorbikes. There's so much energy and excitement in this place.

2. Vietnamese Children
Similar to children in many countries around the world, Vietnamese children are incredibly adorable and always smiling. Their energy and enthusiasm are truly amazing.

3. Life in the Mekong Delta
Embarking on a Mekong Delta tour and cruising along the rivers here is how you'll get to observe the daily life of the local people. It's a peaceful and gentle life.

4. Visiting War Remnants
Exploring war museums or historical sites in Vietnam deepens your love and admiration for this country. You'll feel heartbroken seeing evidence of war atrocities in museums, but then as you step outside into the bustling streets, you'll understand that this country is recovering and finding happiness amidst the wounds and losses.

5. Street Food Delights and Abundant Fruits

Walking along the streets in major cities of Vietnam, you can easily sense the aroma emanating from street food stalls. Especially, Vietnam's abundant variety of fruits are the most delicious I've ever tasted.
