Many of us who excel in the Mid lane will surely understand the feeling of climbing ranks but not being able to pick our favorite heroes or having our lane contested. Whether you're currently mastering top-tier heroes or not, not being able to wield your beloved champion in ranked matches can be disheartening.
However, my fellow Mid lane enthusiasts, fret not, as we still have quite a few Enchanter heroes in Arena of Valor who can confidently solo the Abyssal Lane as Caesar without hesitation. Sometimes, this change of pace can even bring about significant advantages for you.

Lauriel
Lauriel, a name familiar to Mid lane enthusiasts, but the truth is, you can take her solo to the Abyssal Lane if Mid gets contested and still be quite effective.
This playstyle isn't necessarily trolling because there are plenty of matchups in the Abyssal Lane where Lauriel can shine. Remember, she has made appearances in Caesar's lane during tournaments. Simply put, if you're skilled enough, encountering heroes like Omen, Skud, Taara, Florentino, Richter, Yena, Airi, etc., they can easily fall under the might of Lauriel.
Compared to the Warriors that Mid lane players are forced to play or play occasionally, bringing along a familiar card might not be the best, but it can provide a bit of comfort and confidence if the lane gets contested.
When Lauriel goes Top, her ability to push solo and pick off enemy carries really isn't on the low end, plus having two magic damage dealers on the team. However, from a personal perspective, it's only teammates who cry, because this Enchanter can dish out some serious damage.
Furthermore, if you play Lauriel solo in the Abyssal Lane, your movement patterns will have to change a bit. For example, generally, Top laners will control the bats in the lane or rotate to Mid for ganks after farming, but with Lauriel in Top, she needs to control bushes, leap around to apply pressure in the Jungle to gain vision for Mid. Trying to roam the river for Mid bushes with Lauriel's kit early on is quite risky.
Paine
Paine is often used by gamers for Jungle, but sometimes this card is also taken to Mid and performs quite well. However, few know that he can also bring significant advantages to the team when taken Top, as he mostly encounters close-range Warrior heroes, so he's not afraid of much. Only when facing opponents like Ryoma, Murad, etc., does he feel a bit uncomfortable.
Overall, Paine going Top with Punish is just fantastic. We can apply strategies like lane control, continuous ganking towards Mid to apply pressure and play aggressively against enemies early on because Paine's damage in the early stages is quite substantial. You're probably familiar with how menacing Paine's damage can be early on.
Similar to other Mid heroes going solo Abyssal Lane, when encountering Paine in the Top lane, opponents will undoubtedly stack up on magic resistance early on. But remember, if Paine goes blue, items like Troy's Covenant are just pocket change. Plus, in Master rank and below, how many Marksmen or Mages actively build magic resistance early? This is Paine's chance to roam freely and hunt for kills.
In general, Paine going Top means moving for ganks in the first 4 minutes in the right free-style manner. If confident, use skill 1 to scout bushes safely along the river, or else, take the longer route and engage in combat with a standard Soul Steal for the speed.
Tulen
Tulen isn't just versatile between Jungle and Mid; if things get tough, you can totally opt to go Abyssal Lane, which works surprisingly well. Speaking of advantages, when going Caesar's lane, Tulen won't have to worry about junglers or top laners benefiting from minions as in Mid. Conversely, Tulen will take on that role himself.
In the early game, Tulen's 1v1 solo potential against Warriors isn't bad at all, especially when he puts on his armor, he becomes exceptionally tough. Tulen's range is long enough to clear minions from afar or poke enemies without getting too close. If you're skilled with Tulen, he becomes even scarier, clearing waves with just 2 skills, exerting tremendous pressure. At this point, he can clear bats, control minions, hide in bushes, and track enemy movements towards Mid.
Of course, if you spend too much on Lightning Strikes and get ganked, chances of lying down are quite high. Moreover, Tulen's tower-taking ability isn't great because the damage from this Mage isn't much, so if enemies harass, clear minions, and move, it's difficult to regain control. In the later stages, simply moving with the team is enough. But it's certain that enemies will stack up on magic resistance, so if you're late game, the pressure Tulen brings won't be too significant.
Natalya
Many gamers on Mytour, when they hear about Mage heroes going Top lane, immediately think of Natalya. It can be said that she's almost above Warriors in the current meta. This card is strong, deals high damage, has good life steal, and annoying slippery skills.
Right from the early game, this card can actively hide in bushes and unleash a 2+1 combo, making enemy Warriors completely soaked. Not to mention, if the enemy has short range, melee-type approaches, it's even easier for Natalya to land her full combo. Another strength of Natalya when taking her Top lane is her ease of hiding in bushes to ambush enemies, which is terrifying for Assassins. In the mid and late game, if Natalya gets her life steal items, she's not afraid of anyone, even Tanks, getting sprayed by her and passing out instantly.
In general, in solo rank from Master downwards, I still encounter many gamers taking Natalya Top and achieving high effectiveness. Especially with the best Nat players, no matter which lane they go, facing anyone isn't an issue, and when she has her blue orb underfoot, she'll be spamming skills non-stop, wearing out opponents.
Marja
Marja - Abyssal Warden is considered one of the most formidable Mage heroes in AOV. This ability has been further enhanced through her recent adjustments. She can spam skills continuously without worrying about mana consumption, as Marja's abilities don't require much energy, a rarity among mid lane Mages.
Thanks to this ability, Marja can completely take on the role of soloing the Abyssal Lane, even surpassing some Warriors on the lane. Her Abyssal Surge and Soul Rift have considerable range and sustained magical damage, combined with her passive - Depth Power, allowing Marja to easily apply pressure on opponents. Moreover, this AOV Mage is highly valued for her regeneration, so if utilized properly, players can both attack and defend lanes safely without needing much assistance.
With such formidable abilities, taking Marja to the Top lane is entirely feasible, and she may even enhance her power more compared to going Mid.
