II. Sample Essay Describing the Beloved School Attached to Me
Essay 1
Childhood memories are often associated with a particular place. That place binds the memories, the deep emotions of one's early years. It could be the mango tree in the backyard, the cool riverbank, or the levee at the end of the village... For me, childhood is intertwined with the days of studying at Doan Thi Diem elementary school.
My school is a small one, situated on a hill at the end of the village. The school has been standing for over 20 years, so it's a bit old but still very sturdy and clean. It's where my parents entrusted their childhood memories, and now it's my turn.
The entire school consists of only 2 blocks painted in a fresh yellow color like the morning sun. These are two blocks of grade-four classrooms with bright red tiled roofs. On the roofs, the red-starred flags flutter proudly. In each classroom, there are rows of wooden desks neatly arranged, along with shiny blackboards. At the end of the room is a wooden cabinet for storing books, study materials for the whole class. Each classroom also has four windows and two doors. Thanks to that, the classrooms are always filled with light and cool breeze carrying the scent of flowers and grass.
In between the two buildings lies the flat cement courtyard, serving as the flag-raising area, for physical exercises during breaks, and organizing other collective activities of the school. Although there is no sunshade or rain shelter, the courtyard is always shaded thanks to the lush canopy of banyan and phoenix trees. These trees have been planted since the school's inception, incredibly resilient. They have witnessed countless generations of students coming and going from this school. That's why sometimes I and my friends jokingly call them Mr. Banyan and Ms. Phoenix.
Only a few months left, and I have to leave this school to go to another one. Just thinking about it makes me feel incredibly sad. However, nothing can change that. Therefore, in the remaining days, I will try to create even more beautiful memories with the school. And I am sure that in the future, I will come back to visit the school and contribute to its further development.
Essay 2
The school that is always close to me is the ........ Primary School. This is also my second home where there are teachers, and friends.
Today is my duty day, so I arrived at school very early to have a chance to observe the school's overall picture. The school gate is large with two wings painted yellow like the arms of a giant welcoming us. The schoolyard always wears a gray coat, as it is autumn, so there are many yellow leaves falling down like tiny boats stranded ashore.
As the time for Vietnamese class approaches, students playfully wake up all three rows of classrooms as if awakening from a long sleep. The three blocks of classrooms are arranged in a prominent U-shape with bright red tile roofs. The corridors of the classrooms are always kept clean. Inside the classrooms, the desks are arranged neatly, and a picture of Uncle Ho hangs on the wall with a loving smile looking at us. Each classroom has a nameplate marked in order and hung on the classroom door.
I hold great affection for my school as it is where I have shared numerous memories, both joyous and sorrowful, with my teachers and peers.
Essay 3
Every student has a deep connection with their school. I am no exception; my elementary school is a place that brings me much joy and cherished memories. I love my school dearly.
My elementary school is situated in the suburban area of the city, so the area is not very spacious. However, the school is nestled in a location surrounded by lush greenery, making it always cool and tranquil without the noise of traffic from outside. From the very first day my mother escorted me to school, I was captivated by the emerald green color of the lime trees. That green color made me feel comfortable and peaceful, akin to being with my mother. At the beginning of each school year, the school undergoes repainting, so I always perceive the school as very fresh. Even the red tile roofs are stunning; I always thought they resembled a perfect 10 on a year-end exam. The school is encircled by a sturdy fence, with gates both in the front and back. We typically enter through the front gate. The school gate is constructed from thick, sturdy iron bars, painted in a very prominent cream color. Above the entrance hangs a large green sign with sparkling golden letters 'Ngô Quyền Primary School.'
Upon entering the school gate, there is a small courtyard. Although not large, my schoolyard is very beautiful because the teachers have planted numerous flowers and trees. Beds of marigolds, roses blooming under the sun. The scene of the school during recess sees students rushing out to sit under the cool shade of trees and play together.
My school consists of a total of 4 rows of classrooms. The main row, the largest one facing the school gate, has two floors. The first floor accommodates grade 1 students, and the second floor is for grade 2. Each floor has 10 classrooms. The second row of classrooms is on the left and also has two floors for grade 3 and grade 4 students. Grade 5 students study in the row of classrooms on the right. There is another row of classrooms located at the back of the courtyard, which houses the teachers' office and the library. Although our classrooms are not very spacious, they are fully equipped with fans and lights for the comfort of students. Additionally, there is a cafeteria at the back of the courtyard selling food for students.
My school has left me with countless memories, both joyful and sad. I love my school and consider it my second home. The teachers are like parents, and my friends are like siblings. I am very proud of my school and promise to study hard to deserve being a student here.
Essay 4
Throughout the past few years of schooling, I have formed a strong bond with my elementary school and have many wonderful memories with my teachers and friends.
My school is very spacious and beautiful. From outside the street, you can see the school gate, which is very large, with a sign above it stating the school's name. Going further inside, you will see a very spacious playground, paved with smooth concrete. The planters are arranged neatly in rows. The large trees, such as mango trees, banyan trees, and flamboyant trees, have provided shade for us during our years of study. The school consists of three blocks built in the familiar U-shape. Each block has three floors. Walking straight from the school gate leads to the administrative block, with our classrooms on either side. All blocks are painted yellow and have red corrugated iron roofs.
Inside the classrooms, the walls are painted yellow, giving a warm feeling. Each classroom is fully equipped with desks and chairs for teachers and students, blackboards, ceiling fans... Some classrooms even have very modern projectors to serve our learning needs. Behind the administrative block is a large plot of land being developed to build a sports hall for school sports activities.
Under this school roof, I have experienced truly enriching study hours and joyful playtime... For me, this place is like a second home.
Essay 5
As time has passed, my elementary school has become my second home. It has witnessed many precious memories of a shy student, that's me.
I still remember the first day of school when my mother took me there. I felt excited yet nervous. It took about fifteen minutes by motorbike from home to school. Looking from the outside, it appeared spacious and beautiful. The school gate, made of iron, had the school's name on top. My mother told me that this school was twenty years old.
Stepping inside the schoolyard, it was paved with tiles, very spacious, but not a single piece of litter could be seen. The big trees, like banyan trees, flamboyant trees, and lagerstroemia trees, stood tall on the playground, all familiar species to schoolchildren. The administrative block and two blocks of multi-story classrooms were arranged in a U-shape embracing the spacious playground. Each block had three floors. The classrooms were all painted in yellow lime, with green-colored windows and doors, very beautiful. The classrooms were spacious and fully equipped with learning facilities. Desks and chairs were neatly arranged in three rows.
During playtime, the schoolyard was always the liveliest place. Our laughter echoed throughout the school. During class hours, the school strangely became quiet. Occasionally, the echoes of reading could be heard from the classrooms. Now, I am a fifth-grade student, about to say goodbye to this elementary school. The time spent studying here has given me many beautiful memories.
I deeply love the school, as well as my friends and teachers.
