2. Cherry Blossom Season (March to April)
Cherry blossoms bloom profusely throughout Taiwan in March and April. During spring, colorful cherry blossoms will blanket Taiwan's islands. Sun Moon Lake and the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village in Northern Taiwan are the main attractions, boasting over 2,000 cherry trees.
In the evening, you can witness all the trees adorned with lights, creating a particularly romantic atmosphere. In Southern Taiwan, the Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival is the most popular, featuring over 19,000 cherry trees, predominantly Yoshino cherry trees.
Ta Shee Blooming Oasis (May to June) Flower Festival
Ta Shee Blooming Oasis is a flower park covering 17 hectares. Here, you'll find countless species of flowers, but it's especially known for lavender and sunflowers. If you visit in May or June, you may see both of these flowers blooming. Additionally, there's a farm with horses, rabbits, and sheep. Tourists can participate in various DIY classes to craft their own flower pots, cookies, or even a lavender pillow.
Lotus Season in Tainan (June to September)
Baihe in Tainan is the most famous lotus flower destination in Taiwan. This town is dubbed the 'Lotus National Park' due to the abundance of lotus fields. Lotus flowers bloom from June to September every year and are used for making tea. Lotus seeds are utilized in various local dishes. Many restaurants in the Baihe area prepare delicious dishes made from different parts of the lotus flower. Visitors can experience sitting on a giant lotus leaf floating on the water. The best time to admire lotus flowers is from 5 to 10 in the morning.
The Golden Trumpet Flower Festival (August to September)
The two most renowned places to admire fields of golden trumpet flowers in Taiwan are Hoa Liên and Đài Đông. Among them, Sixty Rock Mountain and Lioushidan Mountain are the prime spots in Hoa Liên to behold beautiful fields of golden trumpet flowers resembling paintings from August to September every year.
