1. 7 solutions to extend iOS 9 battery life
Despite numerous updates, many iOS 9 users still struggle with battery drain. If you're facing similar issues on iOS 9.0.x, 9.1, 9.2, or 9.2.1, consider trying these approaches.

1. Restart Your Device
When encountering any issue on an iOS device, the first step is to try restarting it. For iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you can restart the device by holding down the Home and Power buttons simultaneously for about 7 seconds. The device will shut down and restart; release the buttons when the Apple logo appears.
2. Use Low Power Mode
Typically, the system will automatically prompt you to activate Low Power Mode when the battery percentage drops to a low level (around 20%). However, if the battery drains unusually fast, try enabling this mode to conserve battery by accessing Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode.

3. Disable iCloud Keychain Feature
Newer iOS versions come with a feature called iCloud Keychain, which securely stores passwords and credit card information and keeps them updated across all devices logged in with the same Apple ID.

However, for various reasons, this feature can also be a cause of battery drain. Therefore, you can disable iCloud Keychain if not in use by accessing Settings > iCloud > Keychain.
4. Turn Off Location Services
Location services are essential for many apps designed to provide GPS-based functionality. However, frequent GPS scanning can quickly deplete battery life. Thus, turn off location services when not needed.

Access Setting > Privacy > Location Services, deactivate Location Services to disable location services.
5. Reset All Settings
If you've tried numerous methods without success, try resetting your device's settings to default.

Access Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Note that this action will remove all custom settings on your system. If one of your tweaks is causing an issue but you can't detect it, try this method.
6. Reset Firmware via iTunes
If you've updated any iOS 9.x version via OTA and are experiencing battery problems despite trying multiple methods, consider resetting firmware via iTunes. Currently, iOS 9.2.1 is the latest firmware; make sure you've downloaded the IPSW file from here. Then follow the instructions to install iOS 9.x on iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5S, 5C, 5, 4S, iPad, iPod touch here.
7. Downgrade
Finally, if none of the above methods are viable, consider downgrading to a more stable iOS version. You can downgrade from iOS 9.2.1 to iOS 9.2 following the instructions here. Wishing you success.
