3. Check if the software you want to install is 32-bit or 64-bit
Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 all have 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so the downloaded software also has these two versions to ensure compatibility with Windows.
Hence, Windows 32-bit is only compatible with 32-bit software, and Windows 64-bit is only compatible with 64-bit software.
Therefore, you should check from the software's website before downloading to see if the version you're about to download is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Another possible reason could be that you may have already installed that software on your computer, so you can't install it again. Sometimes people see that the software has a new version and download it to install right away, but in that case, it can't be installed because the software is already on the computer but in an older version.
To check if the software is already installed on the computer, you can click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen > Type the name of the software > If the software is already on the computer, it will appear.
Alternatively, go to Control Panel by clicking on the Windows icon and typing 'control panel' > Select Open.

Opening Control Panel
Click on Uninstall a program and then check if that software is already there.

Select Uninstall a program
If the software is already there, uninstall it to download the new version by clicking left mouse button on the software > Select Uninstall.
