The rugged scenery, majestic natural beauty, especially after the King Kong filming event set up a movie set here - has turned Quang Binh into a must-visit destination for adventure travel enthusiasts.
9 Unmissable Destinations When Traveling to Quang Binh
Apart from the famous Son Doong Cave, these 9 destinations below are places you can't miss when traveling to Quang Binh.
En Cave
When you visit Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, you'll be amazed by the majestic beauty of En Cave, known as the third largest cave in the world. What's more, exploring En Cave only takes two days and one night, making it perfect for those who love adventure but don't have much time.

Hang En stretches 1,645 meters through a mountain, boasting 3 cave entrances, facing Southeast and Northwest along the Rao Thuong stream. National Geographic magazine (USA) hailed Hang En as one of the most magnificent caves in the world. What sets Hang En apart is its unique ecosystem and climate, alongside pristine forests and a stunning river, promising travelers unforgettable experiences.
Jumping Rock Beach
In Bo Trach district, Quang Binh, besides the famous Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Jumping Rock Beach is also a captivating stop with its pristine beach and unique rock formations and caves.

Taking National Highway 1A from Dong Hoi city, heading north for about 25 km, Jumping Rock Beach is a mountainous area right next to the beach, at the foot of the Ly Hoa Pass. Despite being just a few steps away from the noisy road, Jumping Rock Beach still retains its untouched charm with its water and eroded mountain rocks. The gentle harmony between the majestic beauty of the mountain rocks and the allure of the vast sea has left an indelible impression on travelers.
Mooc Water Stream
Mooc Water Stream is located on Quyet Thang Road, a branch of the Ho Chi Minh Road, about 10 kilometers northwest of the Phong Nha tourist center. Following the winding road amidst the greenery of the mountains, travelers will encounter the stream nestled in the valley of towering limestone mountains, stretching along the Chay River for about 3 kilometers. The central area of the stream is about 350 meters wide. Here, nature converges with its full spectrum of colors, featuring lakes, rivers, streams, and stone waterfalls.

Chay River – Dark Cave
Located about 70 km from Dong Hoi city, the Chay River is known as a paradise with fresh air and stunning nature that captivates all visitors. Here, adrenaline junkies can leap from a zipline into the cool water, partake in underwater activities, or kayak to admire the picturesque scenery.

Boating along the Chay River for about 5 km, you'll reach the Dark Cave. The flowing stalactites on both sides of the cave wall create an incredibly impressive sight. Due to its proximity to the Chay River and high humidity, the stalactites in the Dark Cave are covered with a large amount of moss, creating a mystical green hue. Stepping into the cave, darkness envelops every corner, making exploration even more spectacular.
Nhat Le Beach
Located about 2 km northeast of Dong Hoi city center, Nhat Le Beach resembles a painting with its spacious natural scenery, featuring white sand and blue sea. After immersing in the clear water, playing with the waves, visitors can indulge in famous quality seafood delicacies with unique flavors.

Quang Phu Sandbar
Located to the east of Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, Bao Ninh Peninsula connects to the city via the Nhật Lệ Bridge, adjacent to the picturesque Nhật Lệ Beach.

From the Nhật Lệ Bridge, head straight to Trường Pháp Street, about 8 km to Quang Phú commune. Across from the Sao Biển Ecotourism Area is Quang Phú Sandbar, where visitors can enjoy sightseeing and recreational activities. You can rent a board and play freely on the vast, smooth white sandbars. Especially, when visiting here, it's advisable to bring sunglasses and long-sleeved shirts to avoid the sand wind.
Phong Nha Cave
Located in the limestone mountains of Ke Bang, Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, 50 km northwest of Dong Hoi city, Phong Nha Cave is considered the 'Number One Cave in the Southern Sky' of Vietnam, surrounded by tropical forests.

From the Son River, it takes over 30 minutes to reach Phong Nha Cave. With a length of 7,729m, depth of 83m, and height of 50m, with numerous large and small branches including Bi Ki Cave, Fairy Cave, and Royal Palace Cave. This is a type of underground river cave with characteristic stalactites. Legend has it that the falling rock formations at the cave entrance contributed to its intriguing name 'Phong Nha', meaning 'Wind through Teeth'.
Paradise Cave
Known as the 'palace in the cave', Thien Duong Cave is one of the most magnificent and mystical wonders in the world. Nestled deep within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, amidst ancient karst terrain, with an estimated age of formation ranging from 350 to 400 million years.

Tien Cave
Tien Cave is approximately 100 km from Phong Nha Cave, actually discovered by locals about 5 years ago but gained more recognition around 2015. Tien Cave is part of the En Cave system, located in Tu Lan commune, Tan Hoa district. Typically, Tien Cave is the starting point for adventurers in Quang Binh. Situated amidst large mountains and dense forests, reaching the cave requires traversing through forests, crossing streams, and trekking. The wonderful thing about Tien Cave is that you can admire impressive stalactite columns right at the cave entrance, without venturing deep inside.
