The narrative in the program “365 days of happiness” broadcasted on VOV Traffic channel on the evening of 10/8 has brought tears to many, witnessing the unfortunate fate and the brave determination of a young girl, riding her motorcycle alone, embracing her pregnant belly, on her way to the hospital for childbirth.
The main character in the program, introduced by MC Thao Nguyen, is named Ai, 22 years old, hailing from the Central region, currently working as a laborer in Binh Duong for the past 2 months. At the beginning of the program, MC Thao Nguyen reads a deeply touching letter from Ai to her 9-month-old daughter living with her grandmother in the countryside.
With a compelling reading tone, MC Thao Nguyen allows the audience to feel the profound thoughts and a segment of Ai's tumultuous childbirth memories “At 11:45 PM, the mother, alone on a motorcycle, rushes to the hospital to give birth. Driving while in pain, praying to the heavens and Buddhas, hoping that the baby won't come out at this moment.

Then they admitted Mom to the hospital, and Mom didn't feel much pain (maybe the baby felt sorry for Mom).
At 10:52 AM the next morning, the baby cried out. Mom earned the title 'Mother'... A mix of joy, sadness, and chaotic happiness...
Alone, Mom struggled to take care of the baby in the hospital, worrying about every bottle of milk and every nap... Mom was happy. Looking at Mom, people whispered something about the two of them, perhaps they had many questions?

In a conversation with MC Thao Nguyen later, Ai revealed that since the baby was only 6 months old, she had to leave her hometown for Saigon to work and earn money to buy milk for the baby. When MC Thao Nguyen asked Ai about the husband, the father of her daughter, Ai hesitated and then revealed that she is not married and has never been married.
The father of the child is the son of the landlord where Ai used to stay. They were in love for over a year, but Ai's family was unaware. The landlord's family disapproved of this relationship, considering Ai unworthy and socially incompatible. When Ai found out about her pregnancy four weeks later, the baby's father callously abandoned her. “He said, 'You can keep it or get rid of it,'” the girl cried on VOV's broadcast.
Alone, embracing her growing belly, amidst the indifference of her child's own father, Ai eventually tearfully packed her bags when the pregnancy was four months old. On the day of delivery, the young woman, all alone, rode her motorcycle to the hospital to give birth.
The young mother shared that the day she returned home with her crying baby was also the day her father turned away, leaving only her mother for support. The family's financial struggles, insufficient for child support, forced Ai, despite just giving birth, to venture far for a livelihood, sending money home for her grandmother to buy milk for the baby.
The story becomes sadder as Ai reveals that, from the birth until now, the child's father, though aware of Ai and their child, has never once inquired about them. Every time Ai initiates contact, he avoids her. A wealthy father, frequently indulging in luxuries, while his daughter has no milk to drink – each realization leaves Ai feeling incredibly heartbroken for her child. The words “Every day I remember you” come out unclear due to the choked sobs of the young mother.

Immediately after Ai's story was broadcasted, many expressed outrage at the indifferent and heartless attitude of the child's father, while also wishing to offer comfort and additional motivation to help the resilient young girl overcome difficulties.
On social media, a Facebook user named Nguyen Hoang Yen shares, “A man unworthy is better off absent. Mud under the feet, but sunshine overhead. Wishing your family always joyous and healthy”.
Echoing the sentiment, another netizen expresses, “Life somewhere out there still holds stories that no one dares to believe... If a man dares to undress a girl and take her to bed, he should also dare to dress her in a wedding gown and present it in the section for exchanging rings. The girl in the story trusted the wrong person. But she also had the determination to face the hardships ahead. Single mothers are now plentiful.
