II. Sample Essay: Describing a Coffee Plantation
'Highland red soil, dense forests with mist, the sweet song about this land of sunlight and wind keeps echoing in my ears. My family, originally from the North, ventured to the South to start a new life. My father chose Dak Nong, a region with rich red soil, to begin everything from scratch, with familiar lush coffee trees.
From then until now, nearly 10 years since I was born, our coffee plantation has grown lush and green, yielding heavy crops every year, supporting the entire family. A plantation like this has thousands of coffee trees, planted in rows, neat and orderly. Looking into the distance, all you can see is a vast expanse of lush green coffee leaves, resembling giant green mushrooms. During the flowering season, the entire coffee plantation turns pure white like snow, like clouds. Coffee flowers are abundant and bloom simultaneously, covering every branch and twig with clusters of round flowers, like a cotton ball. When the flowers bloom, the fragrant aroma fills the entire area, not overwhelmingly strong like many other flowers, but a gentle, lingering scent in the air, carried by the breeze, intoxicating people.
The entire white flower garden is also the time when bees and butterflies gather, chasing and gathering nectar. Walking into the coffee garden, you can see bees diligently collecting food, the buzzing of bees, bustling the entire garden. After the flowering season, the green and immature fruits gradually grow larger day by day, about 6 to 7 months later, the coffee beans turn ripe red, covering the entire plantation. At this time, the leaves of the coffee trees no longer remain lush green but turn slightly yellowish, the branches laden with many fruits. Looking into the distance, the entire coffee plantation gives a warm, abundant feeling with clusters of ripe red fruits, interspersed with slightly yellowing leaves, each tree waiting to be harvested.
