Their games aim to assist high school and secondary students in developing essential soft skills, career orientation, and pursuit of professions through gaming. Recently, at the Games For Change 2022 awards ceremony, Skillsgapp's product, BeatNic Boulevard, was honored with two awards.
Specifically, following the judges' assessment, BeatNic Boulevard - a game combating tobacco use won the “Best Health Game of the Year” and the “People's Choice Award” presented by Facebook Gaming.
“BeatNic Boulevard,” a play on words symbolizing defeating nicotine addiction. It's an educational mobile game, based on simulation and free to play.
In the game, players learn the importance of a tobacco-free lifestyle. They're taught about the impact of tobacco and vaping, as well as the selling of nicotine products negatively affecting schools and communities around them. This gradually reshapes players' perceptions and awareness.
