Four English poems of gratitude to our teachers
Poem 1: A tribute English poem to our teachers
An Ode to Educators
Authored by Amelia Jane
Do you recall our first encounter?
Back in my youthful days.
And your words echoed,
'It's fine, we're a family here.'
And treated me just like any other child?
Yet, even if the memory fades,
Gratitude fills my heart as you've become my everything.
Recall the moment tears first fell in your presence?
During times of hardship for me.
And in that vulnerable moment, you comforted me,
'You're not alone, I'm by your side.'
And suddenly, everything felt a tad brighter?
Even if the memory has faded,
It sculpted the person standing today.
Recall the time when you felt shattered?
When your father's absence left you battered.
And I reassured you,
'I'm here to support you,' I uttered.
And you hastily donned your facade?
For it had slipped, baring vulnerability that day,
Revealing the true you, fearful and concealed.
Recall the instance I bid you farewell?
Embarking on my next journey.
And your comforting words echoed,
'I'll forever stand by your side.'
We embraced, conversing for endless hours?
You encouraged me to pursue my aspirations,
Guiding me through moments of dread.
Recall when I mirrored your footsteps?
And you gracefully stepped aside.
And I whispered to you,
'I'm ready to carry on.'
And you observed with parental pride,
As I ventured forth for the first time?
Now I reminisce about you,
As you rest beneath the earth's embrace.
Your soothing voice lingers in my memory,
Grateful for the lessons you imparted with grace.
Translation:
My Mentor
Written by Amelia Jane
Let's reminisce our initial encounter
A child, unsure yet full of wonder
With a gentle smile, the teacher softly uttered
'Hello there, little one, let's be friends'
And so it went, like countless other students
Every minute, every day, you guided me
You've become my whole world, thank you!
Remember the first time I shed tears lightly
Tripping over life's first stumbling block made me falter
With a gentle smile, the teacher softly spoke
'There, little one, I'm here by your side'
And so it went, all troubles dissolved,
I pressed forward despite life's storms
The storms have passed, shaping who I am today.
Do you still recall the day your heart shattered?
In life's maze with a beloved father
You still gently smiled and softly spoke to me
'Don't fret, I'm here with you,' you said softly
You gazed at me with eyes of old
And on that day, I realized you too
Felt fear and sought refuge like any other.
Do you still remember, the day you left the school grounds?
To tread ahead on the path ahead
Still smiling, softly you spoke
You're here, always in my heart
Warm embraces, gentle words spoken
You advised me to cast away all fears
To pursue dreams ever so tenderly held
Do you remember, the day you became a teacher?
Gently leaning against the stone bench beside me
Still with a smile and a caring voice
'I'm here, to watch you move forward'
You look at me with eyes full of pride
Like parents watching their child take first steps
And now it's my turn to reminisce
The day you, beloved teacher, peacefully rest below
How can the earth bury the gentle words of your guidance
We forever cherish the gratitude to you, dear teacher.
Poem 2: English poem expressing gratitude to teachers
Teacher's Prayer
(James J. Metcall)
I aspire to guide my offspring in
Navigating life's intricate maze,
Confronting its challenges with resilience
And enhancing their value.
More than mere pages in a book
Or the meandering of streams below,
But instilling the wisdom to discern
The path to traverse as they grow.
To grasp timeless truths
And discern morality's song,
To capture the essence of
A bloom and a melody's throng.
If I aid the world's advancement
In wisdom's embrace,
Then victory shall be mine
And I'll have found my space.
Grant me your divine guidance, O Lord,
That I may play my role,
In building character, confidence,
And fostering joy within the soul.
Poem 3: English poem expressing gratitude to teachers
'Teacher' - a word that transports me to the beginning,
The outset of my very first day at school.
I held my mother's hand tightly.
I hesitated to release her grasp,
But suddenly, another hand reached out to mine
And all my apprehensions vanished as there was someone who empathized.
She wiped away my tears and escorted me to the classroom.
It marks the onset of my nurturing.
I realized that a teacher becomes akin to a second parent,
For which I remain grateful.
I am grateful for their mentorship and care.
They imparted all they possessed.
All the virtues and principles I embody stem from their teachings.
In my journey of growth, they form the foundation.
Like a tree, I've soared to great heights,
My resilience is reignited.
Teachers are my guides,
They'll reside in my heart eternally.
For they have instilled in me the courage to pursue.
They are my most invaluable asset.
Poem #4: English poem expressing gratitude to teachers
I recall the moments when you stood by my side.
Through my countless tears, you guided me to clarity.
for your constant support.
You stood by me like a loyal companion, unwavering
until the very end.
I will forever cherish your presence
for your unwavering support.
My admiration lies with you.
You stood by me in times of need without fail.
I will forever cherish the fond memories of you
You'd inquire, 'How's everything going?'
I'd respond with a smile,
yet behind it, tears welled up inside.
You always sensed when things weren't right.
You're a role model I aspire to emulate.
I've discovered the embodiment of that ideal: you.
May my memory linger in your thoughts each passing day.
You've left an indelible mark on my heart in myriad ways.
You're my beacon of hope, a guiding light above.
Illuminating my path with your warmth and love.
An angel among us, sent from the divine.
In you, God's grace and care entwine.
You've been my constant, my rock through the squall,
Rescuing me each time I take the fall.
One word's not enough to convey
All the gratitude I wish to convey.
Your presence fills me with glee,
Revealing what was once obscured from me.
You guided me to find my true identity,
Transforming me into the best I can be.
I'm destined to cling to thee.
Should I bid thee farewell, I'd lose my part,
For you've dwelled within my heart.
The thought of losing you tears me apart.
Your concern for me, reciprocated in full.
I recall our first encounter vividly, a destined rendezvous.
As if fate itself had orchestrated our debut.
You're someone I cherish, never to part.
In that place, we'll forever be intertwined.
