This 18+ app now enables users to utilize NFT images as avatars, providing new opportunities for content creators on this platform
The 18+ platform mentioned here is none other than OnlyFans, a name that has become quite familiar to Vietnamese users in recent months. In an announcement on the night of February 10, this 18+ content distribution platform disclosed that it will permit users to use NFTs as their profile pictures

OnlyFans is gearing up to allow users to set their avatars as NFT artworks
Initially, this feature will exclusively support NFTs issued by the Ethereum platform. To enhance credibility, an ETH logo will be attached to the corner of the profile picture, serving as a marker to indicate that it is an authentic NFT, not just an ordinary image
This holds the promise of being a new form to help both OnlyFans and the creators on this 18+ app earn additional income through buying and exchanging NFTs. As we know, the value of these digital 'items' is incredibly unpredictable. Who knows, someone might be willing to spend hundreds of thousands of USD just to own an idol's NFT? Even a virtual trash bin is priced at up to $250,000

Not long ago, renowned model Irene Zhao also ventured into NFT, making headlines with a total value reaching $6.8 million
This move places OnlyFans among the social networks expected to incorporate NFTs into their platforms, including Facebook/Instagram, Reddit, and most recently, Twitter. However, Twitter's announcement of allowing users to set NFT avatar images faced backlash as the platform couldn't authenticate ownership rights for those NFTs
Also on the night of February 10, YouTube's Product Chief, Mr. Neal Mohan, shared on his personal Twitter about the features YouTube will introduce this year, prominently featuring Web3, NFTs, and the metaverse
He stated that YouTube users can NFT-ize images, videos, artworks, and even interactive experiences to attract more followers. Concurrently, YouTube is exploring measures to enhance the virtual reality experience for users, taking initial steps towards what they call their metaverse. The senior executive affirmed that the first field YouTube will delve into is gaming, yet refrained from disclosing further details
