Just 2 hours' drive from Ho Chi Minh City with low costs, you'll have a refreshing day in the pristine melaleuca forest - also the filming location of 'Endless Meadow'.
A day of relaxation at the 'Endless Meadow Conservation Area' in Dong Thap Muoi
The tourist area 'Endless Meadow' in hamlet 3, Binh Phong Thanh commune, Moc Hoa district is located within the Biological Diversity Reserve - Dong Thap Muoi Medicinal Plant Area. Leaving behind the busy, hectic work life, stepping away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and the suffocation of high-rise buildings, you will immerse yourself in nature, with fresh air and vast forests as far as the eye can see.

Just 80 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Moc Hoa is very pristine, welcoming, and hides many interesting things. This is also an attractive destination for those who love to explore the diverse nature of the Dong Thap Muoi region. To get here, you will take a boat ride through a river full of purple water lilies for about 5 minutes.
With hundreds of hectares of conservation area, you have many entertainment options: taking a boat through the flooded canals to explore the pristine melaleuca forest, the hundred-year-old melaleuca trees, over 80 valuable gene sources, and lush green vegetation. You can also kayak along the canal to experience the feeling of freedom, enjoying the peaceful natural landscape of the Southern region. If you come in a large group, you can organize fun kayak races. Additionally, you can fish with a large net right by the canal, but be patient because it may take several minutes to even an hour before you see any fish after casting your net.
Another way to explore this place is by cycling about 8 km around the melaleuca forest. Bicycles are always available and completely free for you to freely explore nature. Cycling leisurely amidst the cool shade of the trees, smelling the aroma of melaleuca leaves wafting in the air, and enjoying the gentle breeze, you'll feel very relaxed and comfortable.

Here, there are many types of birds, herons, and the cool afternoon is the time when birds gather in large numbers in the forests. If you take a boat ride during this time, you'll see flocks of birds flying vigorously across the sky. If you come here on the full moon day of the flood season, you'll get to admire a magnificent scene when the moonlight and the melaleuca trees cast shadows on the still canal, echoing the sound of birds chirping amidst the rows of trees in the rustling wind. This is truly an experience not to be missed.
Here is also a medicinal plant cultivation area and a workshop for producing products from these medicinal plants. There are signboards indicating the names of each type of plant and detailed instructions on which medicinal plant has what effect, so you can experience firsthand, process herbal products such as essential oils, and use products made by your own hands.
When visiting the conservation area, you must enjoy the local dishes and specialties of the flooded region such as boiled sweet potatoes in coconut water, grilled snakehead fish wrapped in raw vegetables and rice paper, braised quail eggs, fermented fish hotpot with various types of water lilies, water hyacinth, water lettuce, etc. These are all rustic dishes but what's special is that they are all made from medicinal plants, cultivated plants, and livestock in the conservation area, clean and safe, so they are very good for health, suitable for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners.

You can return within the day, stay at the conservation area's accommodation or bring a tent to sleep amidst the wilderness. The pristine nature with its original melaleuca forests, the richness of various plants, rare birds, fish, and friendly and amiable people will help you recharge your energy and spirits to start a new week of work effectively.
