Battlefield 2042 is an utter catastrophe.
Battlefield 2042 stands as the latest addition to EA and DICE's Battlefield shooter franchise. It was hoped by gamers worldwide to be the pinnacle of shooter games, surpassing this year's Call of Duty. However, upon its release in late November last year, Battlefield 2042 received overwhelmingly negative reviews from gamers worldwide due to a myriad of glitches, turning it into a 'disaster' of the gaming industry in 2021.

Following the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042, a petition on Change.org was created by the gaming community demanding EA and DICE to refund gamers who purchased Battlefield 2042 across all platforms. The petition started with a few gamers but after a few days, it gained support from over 85,000 gamers, making it the most signed petition on Change.org demanding EA to refund Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield 2042 was priced at $70 (equivalent to 1.6 million VND) upon release on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This left fans of the franchise dissatisfied with both the price increase and the value the game offered, not justifying such a steep price tag. And because EA has admitted that Battlefield 2042 did not meet its sales expectations, it seems highly unlikely that the company will refund gamers who purchased Battlefield 2042.
“EA's release of Battlefield 2042 is a disgrace to the gaming community who purchased this garbage game for $70 due to EA's misleading advertising. Sign your name on this petition to demand EA to refund this game.'
The issues plaguing Battlefield 2042 are numerous; despite EA's promises of bug-fix updates, gamers are still abandoning this title. The player count for 2042 on Steam has plummeted below that of Battlefield 5 relatively quickly and has even dipped below Battlefield 1's player count. DICE has also only just revealed that plans for the first Season have been delayed.
