A Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Sound Samples to FL Studio

• Navigate to 'Options > General Settings > File.'
• Select an empty folder and locate the desired folder on your computer for import.
• If you're lacking sound samples on your device, you can download them directly from the developer's website.

Launch FL Studio. Look for the black app icon with an orange carrot.

• If you lack samples for import, you can buy some from FL Studio's developers' site.

Access the OPTIONS tab. Look for it in the top-left corner of FL Studio.

Click on the General settings option. This can be found near the top of the OPTIONS menu.

Select the File tab. This is located at the top of the Settings window.

Select an empty file-folder icon located below the 'Browser extra search folders' section. These icons are situated on the left side of the window; clicking one will prompt a browser window to open, allowing you to choose your sample folder.

Choose the folder containing your sound samples. Depending on its location, you may need to navigate through several folders in the browser window to find it.

• For instance, if the sample folder is in your Documents folder (Windows), you might need to click Desktop, then Documents, and finally the sample folder.

Click OK. Located at the bottom of the browser window, this action will import your sample folder. You'll notice a location with the same name as your sample folder appear in the column of options on the left side of the FL Studio window—this is where you'll access your imported samples when creating tracks.

Visit the FL Studio developers' website. You can find it at https://www.image-line.com/. This link will direct you to the Image Line homepage.

• If you're not already logged into your FL Studio account, sign in by clicking SIGN IN in the top-right corner of the page and entering your email address and password.
• If you haven't purchased a version of FL Studio from Image Line, you won't be able to download free samples.

Access the CONTENT tab. You'll find this option near the top of the page.

Click Samples. It's located to the right of the 'Type' heading near the top of the page.

Select a sample you want to download. If you prefer not to pay, look for a sample with a FREE SELECTION button in the bottom-right corner of the sample's box.

• If you're willing to pay, any sample on this page is available.

Click FREE SELECTION beneath a sample you like. This action will initiate the download of the sample to your computer. Depending on your browser, you may need to choose a download location first.

• You can also click ADD TO CART to add a paid version of the sample to your cart. When you're ready to check out, click the cart link next to your name in the top-right corner of the screen, provide any necessary checkout details, and then click CHECKOUT.

Wait for the download to complete. Once finished, you'll be able to import the file into FL Studio.

• To easily access your samples, download them to your desktop.

• If you haven't bought FL Studio from Image Line, selecting FREE SAMPLES may require you to sign in again, even if you're already logged in.
