Users can now use Ultrasurf or Hotspot Shield to access Facebook when blocked on computers. Both Ultrasurf and Hotspot Shield have their own advantages.
So, how can you access Facebook when blocked on your phone? Today, Mytour will guide you on how to access Facebook when blocked on mobile devices.
Guide to Access Facebook when Restricted on Mobile
There are various ways to overcome this situation. One simple method that many people may not be aware of is to add the letter 'm' before Facebook. For example: https://m.facebook.com instead of http://facebook.com
The purpose of adding the letter 'm' to the URL is to help your phone recognize the Mobile interface for the Facebook page. However, if it still doesn't work, you can try the following methods:
For Android operating system phones.
Method 1: Change DNS
Step 1: From the user interface, access the Settings app and tap on the Connections section
Step 2: Proceed to the Wi-Fi section
Step 3: Here, press and hold the name of the currently connected Wi-Fi, then select Manage network settings in the small dialog box that appears immediately after.
Step 4: Next, click on the option Show advanced options
Step 5: A network settings options dialog appears; click on the DHCP section and select Static
Step 6: The device's IP address information interface appears; click on the DNS row>remove the old DNS and enter one of the following DNS values:
Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220
Method 2: Modify Host File
Modifying the hosts file to access Facebook can be challenging for some of you. If it's necessary but seems complicated, seek assistance from someone experienced. Copy the IP range below into the hosts file on your Android phone:
173.252.100.26 www.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 www.login.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 login.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 apps.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 graph.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 register.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 vi-vn.connect.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 vi-vn.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 static.ak.connect.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 developers.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 error.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 channel.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 register.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 bigzipfiles.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 pixel.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 upload.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 register.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 bigzipfiles.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 pixel.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 logins.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 graph.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 developers.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 error.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 register.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 blog.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 channel.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 connect.facebook.com
173.252.100.26 bigzipfiles.facebook.com
You can utilize Root Explorer to access the directory address: system/etc, copy the IP range and paste it into the hosts file
Method 3: Use Opera Browser.
If Chrome or Firefox doesn't work for you, switch to using Opera for Android. Similar to using Coc Coc browser on a computer when facing restrictions. The reason for choosing Opera over Coc Coc is that Coc Coc currently doesn't support the Android platform. Download Opera for Android
After downloading and installing Opera on your phone, you can access blocked Facebook on Android normally. To access Facebook faster even when blocked, follow these steps:
- Tap on the Browser Menu, select Settings.
- In the Opera Turbo section, choose Always on (default is Always off).
Method 4: Use Hotspot Shield:
Just like on a computer, download and install Hotspot Shield on your phone to access Facebook when blocked.
Download Hotspot Shield for Android
So now you can access Facebook normally. Those were two methods for Android phones. If you're using iOS, please read the method below for iOS.
For iOS devices
Method 1: Change DNS
Changing DNS is the simplest and easiest way to help you use Facebook or other apps linked to Facebook, download photos, view comments, and do everything that supported apps allow. It's straightforward; just follow these instructions:
Step 1: First, from the user interface, access the Settings app >Wi-Fi.
Step 2: Next, tap on the icon (i) corresponding to the wifi name you are connected to, as shown below.
Step 3: The device's IP address information interface appears; click on the DNS row>remove the old DNS and enter one of the following DNS values:
Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220
Method 2. Change Proxy
If changing DNS doesn't allow you to access Facebook, try this additional and fairly simple method of changing Proxy. It's commonly used to fix blocked Facebook issues.
Keeping the DNS section unchanged, scroll down to the HTTP PROXY section at the bottom, choose Manual
Click on the Server and Port section, enter the proxy address as shown below:
Additionally, readers can find Proxy (Server) and Port information on the internet using the keyword 'proxy' or HERE
Method 3: Use Opera Browser (Opera Mini, Opera Mobile):
Download and install Opera Mini for iPhone
Opera acts as an intermediary server between you and the website. When you enter a website address and request Opera to load the page, this server processes the web first before sending it to your device. Therefore, all blocked websites, including Facebook, go through Opera's server first, making them unblocked by network providers.
Method 4: Add 'm' to the URL
After the address https://www.facebook.com, add the letter 'm' to make it https://www.m.facebook.com. This method applies to any browser. You can access Facebook anytime you want using this approach.
For Windows Phone.
Method 1: Change DNS.
Go to the Wifi Settings =>Double-click on the connected wifi to find out the IP you are using in the wifi network. Note the default IP on your device to switch to the Static IP setting (image 1)
Go back to the Wifi settings, scroll down and choose Static IP. Change the DNS as follows (image 2):
- IP Address => the IP you checked earlier, enter it here.
- Subnet Mask => 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway => 192.168.137.1
- Change DNS to => 8.8.4.4
Method 2. Change Proxy
Select the Wifi network for which you want to change the Proxy, check the enable box for manual Proxy settings. Enter the server/URL (Server) and port (Port) values for the proxy as follows:
Server/URL: 211.44.183.97, port: 80
Click Save when finished.
With the above 2 methods of changing DNS and Proxy, you can access Facebook on your Windows Phone normally. The issue of network blocking Facebook will be resolved, and you can freely browse Facebook without any difficulties. Additionally, you can use Hotspot Shield for Windows Phone.
