PUBG is now a full-fledged survival game, but that doesn't mean Bluehole, the developer, has stopped adding new features. Everything from new maps to gameplay tweaks and weapons tends to go through a testing phase before reaching players.
Guide to accessing PUBG test server
To play on the test server, you'll need to purchase the Steam Early Access version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. You can't access it if you're using a shared account game library.

Step 1: For PC players, it's actually a very simple process. Go to your Steam Store library and find PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in the list of games as shown in the image below.
Step 2: It's right below the regular mode of PUBG in the list you just searched for, called PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (Test Server). It will look like the text in the screenshot below.
Step 3: Proceed to download and install by clicking Install, specify the installation location for the PUBG test server setup file and begin the process by clicking Next.
Step 4: After installation, press Play to access the PUBG test server. You'll need to create a nickname and design a new character before entering matches.
You'll encounter a different main menu screen when you launch the test server, just a taste of what you can expect from the new update. Additionally, there are weapons, maps, and features that everyone wants to experience on the PUBG test server.
