Utilizing Silicon chips also prompts Apple to modify some fundamental operations when using Mac computers. Previously, users could access Recovery Mode by holding the Option button during startup, but that's no longer possible. Accessing Recovery Mode on Mac computers with Apple Silicon chips has now changed, and the specific steps are as follows:

Step 1: Before entering Recovery Mode, ensure that your Mac computer is using an Apple chip.
You proceed by selecting Apple (upper left corner) and choosing About This Mac to view the machine's specifications.
After identifying that the computer is using Apple Silicon chip, we proceed to access Recovery Mode.

Step 2: Turn off your Mac computer.
Step 3: After the Mac computer is completely turned off, press and hold the Power/Touch ID button to turn on the Mac computer again.
However, you will need to hold the Power/Touch ID button for a while instead of pressing and releasing it like the usual power-on process. Typically, you'll need to hold the Power/Touch ID button for 5 to 10 seconds.

If you're using a Mac Mini with Apple Silicon chip, you'll do the same with the power button at the back.
Step 4: After holding the Power/Touch ID button, the Mac computer will enter Boot Options mode, where you need to select Options => Continue.

Step 5: Before entering Recovery Mode, you'll need to select a user account on the Mac computer and enter the password to access it.
Step 6: That's it, you've completed accessing Recovery Mode on the Mac computer using the Apple Silicon M1 chip. Here, you can restore the computer, reset to default settings, back up your installation, or open Disk Utility to fix errors.

Step 7: To exit Recovery Mode, simply choose the Apple icon => Restart. Your computer will then boot back into MacOS as usual.
