Say goodbye to persistent food odors and tough grease stains on your microwave with these 5 incredibly simple and helpful tips!
1. Revitalize your microwave without spending a penny on cleaning
Microwaves plagued by lingering food odors and stubborn grease stains will be a thing of the past with these 5 simple yet effective tips!
Over time, microwaves accumulate food grease, resulting in unpleasant odors and a loss of aesthetic appeal. With common household ingredients and the following 6 tips, transform your microwave effortlessly, leaving it shining and spotless within minutes without spending a dime.
1. Create your microwave cleaning mixture
Mix half a cup of baking soda or baking powder with 3 tablespoons of water to create a sticky mixture. Apply this mixture to the microwave's surfaces, avoiding the heating elements, and let it sit for approximately 12 hours or overnight. Finally, use a soft cloth to wipe away the dried powder, and the results will surprise you!

For the microwave shelf, beyond cleaning with typical products and rinsing thoroughly for safety, you can soak them in hot water with dishwashing liquid for a few hours.
2. Use ammonia solution for electric ovens
Heat the oven to around 65°C, then place a cup containing an ammonia solution in a small pot of boiling water inside the microwave. Close the door and leave it overnight; the next day, wipe the oven with a diluted mixture of dish soap and water to ensure that stubborn stains and grease on your microwave vanish magically.
3. Clean the oven with... old newspapers

Don't hastily dispose of those old newspapers you no longer read; they can transform into magical cleaning cloths to tackle stubborn grease stains on your microwave. Instead of using paper towels or cleaning cloths, simply dampen and soften the old newspapers, then use them to wipe away sticky dirt on the oven.
4. Utilize excess lemon to clean stubborn stains
Pour 3 cups of water into a large glass bowl with half a tablespoon of lemon juice. If you don't have lemon juice, you can substitute it with half a squeezed orange. These ingredients not only effectively remove stuck-on food in the microwave but also leave a refreshing and pleasant aroma.
Place the bowl of the mixture into the microwave, close the door, and operate it on high until the mixture boils. Cook for 1-2 minutes until steam appears inside the closed chamber, then turn off the microwave. Let the bowl stay inside the microwave for about 15 minutes before removing it to allow the steam to clean any remaining food residue and dust.
5. Use white vinegar to clean both inside and outside the oven
White vinegar is a readily available ingredient in every kitchen. Besides its uses in cooking, we can also use vinegar to effectively clean the microwave. After using the microwave to heat food, fill a bowl halfway with water and add a tablespoon of white vinegar. Place the bowl in the microwave and run it for 3-5 minutes.

The evaporating white vinegar solution inside the microwave will loosen up the unpleasant stains. Then, take the vinegar bowl out and easily wipe the microwave's interior with a sponge. Take advantage of this mixture to clean the exterior of the microwave as well.
