Guide to Activate Video and Audio Streaming over LAN and Internet on VLC Media Player
Step 1: Download the latest version of VLC Media Player: Get VLC Media Player
Step 2: On VLC Media Player interface, go to Media -->Stream... (or press Ctrl + S)
Step 3: Click Add to add the videos or audios you want to stream over LAN or the internet. Then, click Stream
Step 4: In the next dialog box, click Next
Step 5: Choose the HTTP connection port and select a port in the Port section. Finally, click Next
Step 6: Click Next to proceed to the next window.
Step 7: Click Stream to activate the feature of streaming videos over LAN
After configuring as above, you can open another computer on the LAN
Open VLC Media Player and go to Media -->Play Network Stream (or press Ctrl + N) and access the address:
http://192.168.x.y:8080/vlc/ to watch Video content.
Where: 192.168.x.y is the IP address of your computer.
