Method 1: Activate 2-Factor Authentication on Facebook via web browser
To activate security, 2-step verification on Facebook via web browser on PC or mobile device, first open any web browser, visit Facebook.com and log in to your Facebook account. Then follow the steps below:
Step 1: On your Facebook profile window, find and click the downward arrow icon located at the top right corner of the screen, select Settings & Privacy => Settings.
Step 2: On the new window displayed on the screen, on the left-hand side panel, find and click on Security and Login.
Step 3: Scroll down and locate the Two-Factor Authentication section. Here, find and click on the Edit button next to the option Use two-factor authentication.
Step 4: On the next window, choose the option of SMS text message or authentication app to obtain the authentication code.
Choose the option of SMS text message and enter your phone number (if not already). Facebook will send you the authentication code, enter this code.
Step 5: In case you are concerned about security issues and want to obtain the authentication code through an app, click on the option Use Authentication App.
Step 6: Use your authentication app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen and enter the generated app code to confirm.
Once activated, enabling 2-Factor Security on Facebook, verifying 2-Factor Facebook, from now on every time you log in to your account on a new device, you will be prompted to enter the authentication code. Method 2: Activate 2-Factor Facebook verification on the iPhone app
Step 1: Open the Facebook app installed on your iOS devices. If you haven't already, you can download Facebook for iOS here
Step 2: Tap on the icon with three horizontal lines aligned at the bottom right corner of the screen, select Settings & Privacy.
Step 3: Next, tap on Settings.
Step 4: In the account settings window, find and select Security and Login.
Step 5: Tap on Use Two-Factor Authentication.
Step 6: Choose any two-factor authentication method, it could be via SMS message or using an authentication app, then press Continue.
Step 7: If you opt for the second option, you'll be asked to use an authentication app to scan the QR code or alternatively, you can copy and paste the security code into the app manually.
Step 8: If you choose the SMS option, you'll need to proceed with entering the phone number you wish to use.
Step 9: After adding your phone number, press Continue, Facebook will send a verification code to your phone number, enter this code into the box and then press Continue and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Method 3: Activate Facebook two-step verification on the Android app
To activate two-factor authentication on the Facebook app for Android, follow the steps below:
Firstly, you need to download the Facebook app for Android here.
Step 1: Open the Facebook app installed on your Android device, then find and tap on the icon with three horizontal lines located at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Next, find and tap on Settings & Privacy => Settings.
Step 3: Scroll down to the Security section, find and tap on Security and Login.
Step 4: In the Two-Factor Authentication section, find and select the option for Use two-factor authentication.
Step 5: Choose any option, Authentication App or Text Message, to get the authentication code.
Step 6: If you select the authentication app option, you'll be asked to scan the QR code. Alternatively, you can copy the code below and paste it into the authentication app and set up manually.
Step 7: If you choose the text message option, Facebook will send the authentication code to your phone number. Enter this code.
Step 8: After completion, a notification will appear on the screen confirming the activation of two-factor authentication for your Facebook account.
