Step-by-Step Instructions
The Legendary Furby
Unlock the battery compartment located beneath your Furby using a Phillips head screwdriver. This step is crucial for a successful activation.
Place four AA batteries into the designated compartment within Furby. Two should be inserted directly into Furby, while the remaining two should be placed inside the compartment located within the battery door.
If your Furby is fresh out of the box, initiate a restart to power it on. Hold down Furby's tongue switch while simultaneously using a small object, like a pen, to press the reset button located on the underside of Furby. Once done, close the battery door. If your Furby is not new, this step can be skipped.
Secure Furby's battery door by screwing it in place. Be cautious not to over-tighten the screw, as it may cause damage.
Your Furby is now primed for playtime!
The Classic 2005 Furby
Release the velcro beneath Furby. This action will unveil the battery compartment.
Insert four AA batteries into the designated compartment. Pay attention to their orientation, as they will be positioned upright within the compartment.
Secure the battery door in place with screws. Verify that the two small tabs are correctly positioned. Failure to do so may result in improper closure of the battery compartment.
If your Furby is fresh out of the packaging, perform a restart before commencing play. Press and hold Furby's tongue switch while simultaneously toggling Furby's on/off switch to the 'on' position. This step is unnecessary if your Furby is not brand new.
Your Furby is now eager to engage in playtime with you!
Featuring 2012 Furby, Furby BOOM, and Furbacca
Unscrew the cover of Furby's battery compartment. This task may require some patience, as these covers can be tricky to maneuver.
Place 2 AA batteries into the lower section of the battery compartment.
Insert two additional AA batteries into the remaining slots, ensuring they overlap with the ones at the bottom.
Turn Furby upright and await its motion initiation. Once it starts moving, flip it back over and reattach the battery cover.
It's time to embark on a playful journey with Furby!
Introducing Furby Party Rockerz
Unscrew the battery cover located underneath your Furby Party Rocker.
Place 2 AAA batteries into the designated compartment. Ensure they are inserted correctly.
Depress the reset button located beneath your Party Rocker.
Wait until your Party Rocker's eyes illuminate before reattaching the compartment, as you may need to adjust the batteries further.
Now it's time to engage in playtime with your Furby Party Rocker!
Featuring Furby BOOM Furblings
- Furblings are equipped with batteries, eliminating the need for user insertion.
Safely remove the clear plastic strip located at the base of your Furbling.
Don't anticipate immediate activation of your Furbling. To initiate speech, press down on its head.
It's time to engage in playful interactions with your Furbling!

Occasionally, particularly with older Furbys, they may arrive non-responsive due to motor inactivity. However, this is easily remedied. If you have an original Furby, insert a small screwdriver above its beak and turn it left until your Furby springs to life!
