Essential Information
- Sign in to your Facebook account, navigate to Messenger Kids, and choose the account you wish to modify.
- Select 'Parents/Guardians > Add additional' to include another adult to a Messenger Kids account.
- Select 'Friends > Add friends' to enable the Messenger Kids account to message other contacts.
Steps to Follow
Adding Another Parent or Guardian

Visit https://facebook.com and log in. Sign in to the account managing the Messenger Kids account.
- You can also manage the Messenger Kids account using the Facebook mobile app on your Android, iPhone, or iPad.

Access Messenger Kids. Locate it in the menu on the left side of your screen, featuring an icon of a speech bubble in gradient green-to-blue.
- If you don't spot this option, click See More to expand the menu.

Choose the child's Messenger Kids account. You'll find a list of all the Messenger Kids accounts you manage under 'Accounts you manage.'

Navigate to the Controls tab. You'll find it below their cover photo.

Select your name listed under 'Parents/Guardians.' A new window will appear.

Click on Add additional parent or guardian. This individual will have access to view and manage all aspects of the Messenger Kids account.

Tap on Add. Then click Done to close the window. You can also choose to click Remove after adding someone as a parent or guardian to revoke their privileges.
Adding an Adult Contact

Visit https://facebook.com and sign in. Log in to the account responsible for managing the Messenger Kids account.
- You can also manage the Messenger Kids account through the Facebook mobile app on your Android, iPhone, or iPad.

Access Messenger Kids. Look for the speech bubble icon with a gradient green-to-blue on the left side of the screen's menu.
- If not visible, click See More to expand the menu.

Choose your child's Messenger Kids account. All managed Messenger Kids accounts will be listed under 'Accounts you manage.'

Navigate to Friends. Positioned beneath the cover photo, it lists all current friends.

Tap Add Friends. This action opens a list of your contacts where you can search for individuals to add.
- Note that only contacts from your friends list can be added as Messenger Kids friends.
- If desired, return to the list, click the three-dot menu, and select Remove to prevent Messenger Kid from contacting that person.

An adult can communicate with someone using Messenger Kids without needing the Messenger Kids app. They can simply use the regular Messenger app.
