Adding Fonts to Your Excel File
If you encounter font errors in your Excel file when transferring files from one person to another due to missing fonts, non-matching fonts, or if you want to add new fonts, you can do so using one of the following methods.
Method 1: You determine the font you need to install, then go online to download the required font type -> then extract (if the downloaded file is in compressed format) -> next, you copy all those fonts and paste them into the Fonts folder on your C: drive with the path: C:\Windows\Fonts.
With this method, you can apply it to all computers using different versions of Windows such as: Win 10, Win 8, Win 7, and even Win XP. After copying and pasting, the computer will automatically install the new font, and Excel application will automatically recognize the newly added fonts.
You can close the Excel application that is currently open, then reopen Excel -> then go to the font section to check again, and you will see the newly added font.
The image above shows a computer currently open and using Excel 2016.
Method 2: For computers using Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10 operating systems, adding new fonts to Excel files is much simpler.
To add new fonts to Excel or your computer -> simply download the desired font and save those fonts on your computer (you can compress if the font file is compressed) -> Then, right-click on the font -> and click Install to install the font.
If you have multiple fonts to install -> then you select the fonts you want to install or press Ctrl + A to select all if you want to install all -> finally, you also right-click -> and select Install to install all fonts.
After installation, check the font section in Excel, and you will see the newly installed fonts there.
Method 3: You go to Start and choose Run -> then type Control Panel for computers using Win XP -> Then, double-click on the Fonts icon. When the Fonts window appears, click on the File menu and then select Install New Font.
