Step 1: Download the Zalo app for iOS devices by visiting the Apple App Store or download Zalo on your computer if you prefer using it on PC.

Method 1: Adding Zalo friends using phone numbers

Step 2: Access Zalo, look at the upper right corner, if you are in the Messages or Groups section, click on the plus sign icon, if you are in the Contacts section, click on the person icon with a plus sign (Figure 1). Then, click on 'Add friend' (Figure 2). 

Step 3: In the 'Enter phone number' box, enter the phone number of the person you want to add on Zalo (Figure 3). Then, click on 'Search' (Figure 4)

Step 4: Now, Zalo will display the profile page of the person you want to connect with after you input their phone number. Click on the 'Add friend' button (Figure 5) to add them. 

Method 2: Adding Zalo friends via QR code scanning

Step 2: Access Zalo, look at the upper right corner, if you are in the Messages or Groups section, click on the plus sign icon, if you are in the Contacts section, click on the person icon with a plus sign (Figure 6). Then, click on 'Scan QR code' (Figure 7).

Step 3: Ask the person you want to connect with to provide you with their QR code for scanning (Figure 8). After a few seconds, Zalo will display their profile page, click on the 'Add friend' button (Figure 9). Once they accept, you've added a new friend. 

Method 3: Adding Zalo friends via contacts

Step 2: Look at the upper right corner, if you are in the Messages or Groups section, click on the plus sign icon, if you are in the Contacts section, click on the person icon with a plus sign (Figure 1). Then, click on 'Add friend' (Figure 2). 

Step 4: When Zalo displays real-time, it means Zalo has updated your friends in the contacts list (Figure 12)

Method 4: Adding Zalo friends via Nearby feature

- Step 1: Open Zalo, in the Find friends, messages box, type 'Find nearby' (Figure 1). Click on 'Find nearby' (Figure 2).

- Step 2: Zalo will display the Nearby interface (Figure 15). Then, look at the bottom of the screen, tap on 'Find nearby' (Figure 16). 

- Step 3: Zalo will display nearby Zalo users (Figure 17). Search and tap on the person you want to add as a friend, then when Zalo displays their profile page, click on 'Add friend'

- Introduce Zalo to friends: this feature helps you invite others to use Zalo.

- Find friends from Facebook: simply connect with Facebook to find friends through this world's largest social network.

- Find people nearby: Zalo allows you to search for people around you who are using this service.
