Instagram has recently rolled out a feature allowing users to add locations, maps, and travel guides to their profiles for everyone to explore. Furthermore, after adding locations, you can highlight them in your Story for increased visibility.
Step 1: Open the Instagram app and go to Profile (1) => Add (2) => Guides (3).
The Instagram Guides section enables you to search and add locations, travel destinations to the map, creating a Local Guide for navigation instructions.
Step 2: In the Guides section, you'll find various options for each product group. However, for this article, we'll focus on the section for creating a Location.
Step 3: When creating a location on Instagram, ensure you enter the correct location, its name, and instructions will be displayed in the list.
Step 4: To enhance positioning and add data to the system, when adding a location, choose additional images of that location as suggested by Instagram.
Step 5: Next, you'll need to fill in the location's name, position, and other location details.
If you want to add multiple locations at once, select Add Location and enter the location details.
Step 6: Now, choose to share and share the location on your profile as a Local Guide. This sharing won't appear on your main Instagram profile but will be visible under the Local Guide tab.
Step 7: After completing the sharing of a location, coordinates on Instagram, you'll have the Local Guide tab in your personal account. Click on Local Guide to see the list of locations you've added.
Other users can also access the Local Guide on your profile to view directions and navigate to the locations you've added on Instagram.
Step 8: That wraps up the process of adding locations and places to Instagram. To double-check, open the Story mode and upload a photo with the Location setting.
If the locations you added appear in the Location section, you're done. If not, you may need to wait for about 24 hours for the system to update the data.
