How to Number Pages in PowerPoint
In this tutorial, Mytour will use PowerPoint 2016 to demonstrate numbering pages in PowerPoint.
1. Numbering pages for one slide or all slides
Step 2: In the Header and Footer interface, go to the Slide tab and check the box next to Slide number. If you want to number pages for all slides, click Apply to All; if you only want to number pages for one slide, simply click Apply.
The result is that you have successfully numbered pages in PowerPoint. You will see the pages start with number 1, and you can adjust the font, font size, and font color to suit your needs.
2. Numbering pages from any slide
By default, when you create page numbers in PowerPoint, they start from 1 for the first slide. However, you can change it to a different page number if you wish.
Step 1: Go to the Design tab -> select Slide size -> then choose Custom Slide Size.
Step 2: The Slide Size interface appears allowing you to customize the page numbering. Under Number slides -> input any desired starting page number, for example, inputting 3 for the first slide -> next, click OK to save.
As a result, the first slide will display as number 3 instead of the default number 1 as in the default PowerPoint page numbering method.
So, you have just been successfully guided on how to number pages in PowerPoint with relatively simple and easy steps! With PowerPoint, the steps to set up page numbering are not as many as when you number pages in Word or Excel, so you should choose one of the two page numbering methods that we just introduced above depending on the situation. Additionally, you can explore more beautiful PowerPoint backgrounds to insert into your slides. Wish you success!
