Group Draw Results, AFF Cup 2018 Schedule
The final results have been determined
- Group A consists of teams: Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos
- Group B comprises teams: Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, East Timor or Brunei
According to the new statutes announced by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), the schedule for the AFF Cup 2018 will undergo changes as follows: each national team will play two matches at home and two matches away to determine the top two teams in each group advancing to the semi-finals. Specifically, the top-seeded teams (Vietnam and Thailand) will play their second and fourth matches at home, and their first and third matches away. This means in their opening match, the Vietnam national team will play as guests at the home ground of the team ranked lowest in the group, possibly Laos or the winner of the playoff between Brunei and East Timor.
Subsequently, in the second match at My Dinh Stadium, Vietnam will host the team from the second-seeded group, either Indonesia or Malaysia. In the third round, Vietnam will play away at the home ground of the third-seeded team, either Myanmar or the Philippines, before returning to My Dinh for the final match against the fourth-seeded team, either Singapore or Cambodia.
The AFF Cup 2018 will serve as validation for Coach Park Hang Seo following the success at the AFC U23 Championship, showcasing the strength of the Vietnamese national team in the region. Stay tuned for the updated schedule of the AFF Cup 2018 provided by Mytour this afternoon on May 2nd.
