The first Super Mario Bros. game was completed 38 years ago by 5 personnel at Nintendo, including project director Shigeru Miyamoto, assistant director Takashi Tezuka, programmers Toshihiko Nakago and Kazuaki Morita, and composer Koji Kondo.
Today, all 5 individuals are still working for Nintendo, albeit in different roles due to their promotions after years of dedication. In the Super Mario Bros. Wonder project, Miyamoto oversees the product, Tezuka is the producer, Nakago advises on special level designs, and Kondo directs the sound. Morita's name is mentioned in the credits as well, although his specific role is not mentioned. This interesting discovery was announced by Max Nichols, a game designer working at Bungie, on his Twitter.
Over 38 years, time can turn those twenty-year-old men into old men nearing retirement age.
