Despite being strong, Gen.G's super team is perceived as having difficulty achieving success.
As recently revealed, Gen.G unveiled their roster for the upcoming season. After two years of building a 'super team' with Peanut - Chovy as the core, Gen.G undergoes a significant overhaul. New additions include Kiin (Top Lane), Canyon (Jungle), and the reunion with Lehends (Support). The retained core consists of Chovy and Peyz. This is viewed as a superior 'super team,' possibly better than any previous iterations of Gen.G.

However, upon the mere mention of this roster by Gen.G, there emerged a plethora of contrasting opinions. According to renowned LoL streamer and expert LS, this is the best lineup Chovy has competed with. Nevertheless, LS emphasizes, 'How will these personalities mesh together?'.

Following Gen.G's official roster announcement, Jankos also echoed similar sentiments, even expressing doubts about the potential success of the new 'super team' from the reigning LCK champions. Specifically, Jankos remarked, 'They are all fantastic players, but they each have their own selfishness. I'm curious about how they can play together.' Beneath Jankos' post, numerous fans shared similar concerns.

In reality, Canyon has previously experienced a period of playing a supportive role. However, this coincided with his lowest performance during the 2020 Worlds. When he played supportively but his teammates failed to meet expectations, DK inadvertently undermined a crucial asset. Meanwhile, although Kiin could be a strong carry, after years of playing, he still lacks the leadership qualities. As for Lehends, this player excels in short calls, issuing concise commands similar to T1's Keria.

None of the current 5 Gen.G players have shown themselves worthy of leadership roles. Therefore, for Gen.G to effectively operate their roster in the new season, it will undoubtedly require a lot of time. Hence, their struggles in Spring 2024 might not be surprising.
