The CEO of BKAV states that many Vietnamese reviewers are currently on 'Mount Stupid'.
Last week, BKAV and CEO Nguyễn Tử Quảng stirred controversy by criticizing Vietnamese reviewers for lacking 'sufficient expertise', assessing products based on what manufacturers provide, and being inclined to speak positively when paid.
'Due to their lack of expertise, when assessing a product, they almost always echo what the manufacturer feeds them. This compromises the objectivity and independence of a true reviewer. Getting paid frequently tends to sway their opinions in favor of the corresponding manufacturer. Recognizing the true nature of this 'reviewer' group, and understanding that their approach doesn't benefit consumers or the market, we've decided not to collaborate with them starting this year,' wrote the BKAV CEO on social media.
The controversy arose when BKAV introduced the AirB and AirB Pro earphones. Several tech reviewers in Vietnam purchased and posted reviews on YouTube and social media. Most reviewers criticized the AirB for lacking clear advantages compared to products from other brands, citing mediocre sound quality and subpar build issues.
These reviews directly contradict BKAV and CEO Nguyễn Tử Quảng's previous claims that the AirB has 'sound quality equivalent to products twice its price', 'premium design', and 'exquisite craftsmanship'...

Following CEO Nguyễn Tử Quảng, a recent leader at BKAV criticized Vietnamese reviewers. Through the Bphone Perspective group, Mr. Lâm Hồng Quang stated that many Vietnamese reviewers are currently on 'Mount Stupid' and then shared the story of the 'Frog at the Bottom of the Well' for comparison. Mr. Lâm Hồng Quang currently holds the position of Director in charge of Mobile Software at BKAV.
'Many Vietnamese reviewers are on Mount Stupid. They lack knowledge but don't have the expertise to understand their lack of knowledge. Their confidence is sky-high. Western scholars have researched and summarized it. It's unfortunate that viewers put their trust in them,' he commented.
Our ancestors have also summed this up. Quoting the beginning of the story 'Frog at the Bottom of the Well': 'There was a frog that lived for a long time in a well. Around it were only a few tadpoles, crabs, and small snails. Looking up from the bottom of the well, our frog only saw a sky the size of a basin. It thought: That's the entire universe, so the frog considered itself the ruler. Every day it made loud noises, echoing through the well, frightening the other animals. The frog thought the sky above its head was only as big as the basin, and it felt majestic like a lord,'' Mr. Quang's commentary.

A concise explanation of 'Mount Stupid': this is a stage of the Dunning-Kruger Effect where a person is overly confident in their abilities, while their actual knowledge is lacking.
When questioned about CEO Nguyễn Tử Quảng's expertise in COVID-19 prevention, an area BKAV had not been involved in before the pandemic, Mr. Quang responded:
'Well, I may not have expertise, but I've been invited as the Chief Architect of the National COVID-19 Prevention Technology Center. I've been invited to meetings with the National COVID-19 Steering Committee and meetings with the Hanoi People's Committee on pandemic prevention. Quite unusual, isn't it?'
