Trong Thuy cried bitterly, then he slowly embraced the body of his beloved wife and took her back to bury in Co Loa citadel. After Mi Chau's death, Trong Thuy was tormented, in pain, blaming himself and blaming others, the more he thought, the more he felt sorry, the more he felt pain, the more he missed his wife. One day, when he looked into the well to see himself, he saw the shadow of Mi Chau shimmering under the water, because he wanted to follow her, he threw himself into the well and died.
Trong Thuy's soul urgently seeks Long Vuong in the water palace to meet Mi Chau again to express his feelings. Moved by his love, Long Vuong ordered someone to call Mi Chau out for Trong Thuy to meet. Mi Chau is somewhat moved, but still speaks with reproach:
- I loved you like that, how could you not know. I trusted you like that, how could you not know. You deceived my trust to harm our country, my family. Do you know, my heart is in pain, every night I blame myself, for my mistakes that harmed my father, my country. Do you truly understand this pain?
Trong Thuy slowly stands up, takes Mi Chau's small hand and explains:
Mi Chau, my dear, I never expected the war to be so cruel. I never expected us to be separated. Because of my foolishness, people suffered, everyone shed tears. I deserve condemnation, scorn, and blame. My dear, I am the victor but I do not have the joy, the glory I once thought. Turns out, I am a failure, I have to pay with my life, what's even sadder is that I lost you, you no longer trust me. Now, I only hope you can pity me, forgive me for my mistakes.
Mi Chau listens to Trong Thuy's heartfelt words, feeling both angry and compassionate. She silently thinks that in the end, Trong Thuy is just a victim of an unjust war. She embraces Trong Thuy, silently agreeing to forgive him. They embrace and cry, tears of joy, pain, and happiness blending together.
