Following their victory against T1, many spectators express concerns about Gen.G being 'jinxed'.
In recent years, T1 has been hailed as a team approaching perfection. They blend experience with youth, expertise with fervor, and a hunger for titles. However, despite their accomplishments, including the LCK Spring 2022 championship, T1 has fallen short repeatedly, both domestically and internationally.

Despite setbacks, T1 consistently rises stronger after each fall. Following their defeat at MSI 2022, T1 displayed a more cautious and assured demeanor, reaching the finals of two consecutive tournaments. Despite their loss at Worlds 2022, T1 maintained their roster but adopted a more innovative playstyle. Yet, on a singular day throughout Spring 2023, Gen.G outshone T1, leaving Faker and his teammates yearning for glory.

However, T1's adversaries often struggle to maintain momentum after besting the team. Take Royal Never Give Up, for example. Despite their victory over T1 at MSI, they faltered domestically, only securing a Worlds spot through play-ins. Furthermore, RNG's journey ended in the quarterfinals, defeated by T1 themselves. By Spring 2023, RNG remained in crisis, unable to replicate past success.

Following suit, DRX also succumbed to the 'curse of defeating T1'. No one foresaw such a journey, let alone a play-in team clinching the championship. Along the way, DRX overcame three World Champions: Edward Gaming, Gen.G, and T1. Yet, in LCK Spring 2023, DRX plummeted to the bottom of the standings after parting ways with key players who once claimed victory in the States.

Following their victory over T1 in the previous LCK Summer, Gen.G faced a challenging period at Worlds 2022. They suffered an opening loss in the group stage, and had it not been for RNG's health issues, Gen.G might have finished second in their group. Against DK, Gen.G relied on Ruler's brilliance to secure victory before falling to DRX in the Semifinals.

Currently, Gen.G has once again defeated T1 and secured their debut at MSI. Peyz and Doran performed admirably in the finals, but MSI presents a different battleground, where surprises abound. Additionally, with only 2 slots per major region, competition intensifies, urging Gen.G to stay focused to avoid repeating the 'trail of downfall'. Especially at MSI, where they are mere 'new recruits'.
