Recently, right in their homeland of Japan, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen has officially been subject to notifications from regulatory bodies for scrutiny due to the provocative imagery of Nezuko and Daki.
As one of the most notable highlights of the winter 2022 anime season, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen truly delivers an enticing and emotionally rich Red Light District arc for its dedicated audience. With 10 episodes aired, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen consistently dominates the winter 2022 anime charts and receives a shower of praise from audiences worldwide.

However, alongside its success, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen has also encountered some flak for excessively leveraging sensitive visual elements to attract questionable views. This issue has stirred up controversy within the community ever since the two national waifu icons in this beloved anime, Nezuko and Daki, made their appearance and confronted each other. Recently, as part of the promotional efforts for Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen, Demon Slayer posters have been plastered everywhere. While most of these posters feature striking images of Zenitsu, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Daki, and Gyutaro, some have sparked debates among Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen fans.

At Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, Japan, a 'somewhat special' poster has been displayed. This poster underwent some adjustments, utilizing effects to partially conceal the exposed area between the chests of the two female characters, Nezuko and Daki. Subsequently, images of this poster were widely circulated on various social media platforms. In actuality, these posters have been around for quite some time. Nevertheless, this incident continues to resurface repeatedly. Many speculate that Kimetsu no Yaiba's recent controversies regarding sexual content are the driving force behind these posters undergoing scrutiny and being required to censor sensitive elements.

On February 4th, J-CAST News directly interviewed the advertising agency responsible for the aforementioned poster. They received a response stating that the published poster underwent content reviews in accordance with established standards. The representative stated: 'We will consider feedback from everyone regarding the edits, but all adjustments must still adhere to the regulations.'

In general, the growing attention from regulatory bodies in Japan towards Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen publications and the limitation of imagery related to Nezuko and Daki suggests that this anime has been listed among the products contrary to 'pure cultural customs' in this Land of the Rising Sun. Hopefully, with this incident, future anime installments of Kimetsu no Yaiba will exercise greater caution in their imagery and avoid being criticized and labeled as cheap view-bait by using sensitive imagery, as the team did with Nezuko and Daki.
