In the wake of the Elden Ring phenomenon, a plethora of open-world titles will continue to emerge in the foreseeable future.
Since Elden Ring's debut earlier this year, swiftly garnering widespread acclaim globally, open-world games have been evolving steadily, attracting much attention. Many believe this genre will gradually supplant survival and Battle Royale styles, becoming the next big trend in the global gaming community.
Just recently, the online community was once again thrilled as Witchfire - a highly anticipated open-world game purportedly surpassing Elden Ring - revealed its latest information, including its release timing.

At the ongoing Summer Games Fest, while many exciting games are being introduced, it seems the majority of players' attention is focused on one title: Witchfire. Specifically, Witchfire is described to recreate an open world comparable to renowned titles like Elden Ring or even Skyrim once did. Not to mention, modern firearms and weaponry will also be integrated into the game. In other words, from The Astronauts' perspective, Witchfire will be an open-world FPS game promising to 'blow away' players with its unique gameplay and approach.

In fact, the name Witchfire first appeared and was mentioned back in 2017. But it took a staggering 5 years for this blockbuster to make a spectacular comeback after many speculated whether the project had been canceled. And it's not until this year's Summer Games Fest that everything is finally made clear.

Exciting news for Witchfire fans! The game is set to release in Early Access on the Epic Games Store in Q4 of this year. The development studio is actively seeking player feedback before the official launch. Initially, the game will only be available on PC before expanding to multiple platforms in the future.

Witchfire's gameplay has been partially revealed. Alongside firearms, magic is also a weapon, utilizing four primary elements: Earth, Fire, Water, and Air to create effects such as freezing or disintegrating enemies. This feature draws comparisons to another open-world game, Genshin Impact.
