Following Axie Infinity, the NFT gaming community witnesses another project falling victim to intrusive hack cheats.
NFT games are gaining popularity among the youth, realizing the childhood dream of earning money while playing. However, it comes with unforeseen risks, from poultry scams to hacks. Recently, Wonder Hero joins the list of victims, suffering a 90% value drop alongside Axie Infinity, losing over 14,000 billion VND to security breaches.

Introducing Wonder Hero, an NFT game that garnered high expectations upon release. Similar to traditional RPGs, players can develop characters in various roles like Tanker, Mage, and more. Most heroes can be unlocked through gameplay, avoiding the need for purchases. Available on both iOS and Android, Wonder Hero quickly became a preferred choice for many gamers.

On April 7th, the game received notification that their transaction portal was under attack by a group of hackers. Swiftly, the developers closed the game and website before notifying users. According to sources, the hackers utilized similar tactics as in the previous Axie Infinity attack. Initial confirmation from Wonder Hero's management indicates the damage is approximately 320,000 USD (around 7.5 billion VND) - a relatively modest amount compared to Axie Infinity but enough to stir concern in the NFT gaming community.

Aside from stolen assets, this hack also caused a sharp decline in the main token, WND, within Wonder Hero, plummeting over 90%. Currently, the developers of the game have issued an apology, promising rectification and compensation for players. However, this seems to have done little to improve the situation. At least for now, Wonder Hero gamers still find themselves lamenting as their character values suddenly dissipate by more than 90%.
